Hi,

I just got my spirit last week and have a few tuning questions. I have a number of other FBL units: Vortex, BD3SX, Beastx, V-Bar, And have tried the ZYX and E-Bar.

The Spirit setup was pretty straight forward and I got the rescue and stabilaztion mode set up with bank switching. On the initial flight all went well and the bailout/stabilization worked as expected. But I need to do some tuning on the unit to my liking and I like to know what are the best parameters to adjust so I don't end up messing with the wrong ones.

First my piro acceleration seems pretty slow. It's a trex 500 with a Futaba S9257 tail servo. I guess the piro speed is just too slow to my liking. Is the rudder delay the correct parameter to adjust here?

Second, the cyclic doesnt seem as responsive as I would like it. What parameter to adjust should I be looking at here?

Third, there is a slight dolphin effect during FFF, again what would be the appropriate adjustments to tune this out? I did have a Beastx on the heli before which did not give this effect.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi,

to get faster pirouettes you can just increase Rotation speed in the Sensor tab. To get more agressive/direct feeling you can increase Rudder Dynamics, which is behaving very similarly to BeastX POT2.

To get direct feeling on the cyclic there is Cyclic Feed Forward parameter in the Advanced tab, so you can increase this one.
There may be a problem with your Cyclic Gain regarding dolphin effect, what is your current value? Is your Cyclic Ring value configured to max. mechanical limit?

Everything is described in the manual as well, so you can take a look. Also we have Tuning Guide here on the forum. I believe it can help you a lot.
