Yes, potentially shorter horns/length may help, it will cause at least noticeable change to some extent.

I've also removed the Eagle Tree data logger. I'll report in the coming week how things go.

Thanks

OK, with no eagle tree data logger - the thing still wobbles on aileron axis.

I have two more things to try:
1 - somehow make mech adjustments to ensure 6 deg geometry setting is > 100 instead of being 75.
2 - cable tie the FBL unit to the chassis

If this doesn't work - I think I will just assume the Spirit and Gaui X5 were never meant to be friends. For example; I have just as many vibes on the Goblin 570 with a Spirit compared with the X5 - and the Goblin flew really well on it's maiden flight. I'll be tuning the 570 tomorrow morning.

So one question I really would love an answer on is: does the 6 degree tuning play a big role here? 75 seems a low value - is it really low? The docs say keep this value 90+ if I recall correctly.

I'd still be keen on trying to work out what's wrong - but at this point I'm really running out of options. I considered crazy things like shipping the heli to you guys in case that might help, haven't priced that + insurance though and it really does depend on whether or not you would entertain the idea.

Maybe if you are in Switzerland at some point, perhaps visiting Hugo Markes?

Cheers

Really sad news.

Did you tried different servo horns? If so, you have to update Geometry 6° parameter too (with other parameters as well).

I believe it must work without any issue. There are other Gaui X5 pilots with very good results, without any tuning.
Maybe we can try to get settings of their helicopters for comparison.

Yup - sad. I absolutely would LOVE to get the X5 settings from other pilots. As you can probably tell, I'm not exactly giving up on the unit after 30 seconds - any other info will help. In fact, after re-reading the entire thread again I saw that there is a post from another user that mentions using Logo 500 defaults and swapping out the feathering shaft.

I'll give both things a shot - as I said, I'm rather keen on trying to figure out why this isn't working - and if we get to that [solved] point I'm hoping it helps other pilots as well.

So, is 75 too low for geometry 6 deg?

Very good, I am glad for your patience.

We will be doing everything to help you with the problem.

Presets are rather to configure some initial values, especially for the rudder. For Cyclic, there is not too much values that can be shared.
But yes, there is Geometry 6° preconfigured to 128 value for Logo 500. If somebody will not configure this value at all, then it can change a lot (rather it is worse).

Value of 75 is low, but there are many helicopters with similar values and are flying perfectly.
If it is possible to increase this value (by mechanical setup) then it is welcome and should be definitively better.

So decreasing Cyclic Feed Forward does not helped at all?

Decreasing CFF doesn't really help - just makes the whole heli feel squishy... if that makes sense.

OK, thanks.

You can also try to increase Geometry 6° value by 10-20 points (without changing servo horns) - it will multiply all cyclic regulation gains little bit. In case it will be worse, then the problem is here.

Thanks for the info - I will try this soon, tomorrow I will go out with the X7 and Goblin 570 - for tuning purposes. The X5 will need to wait until the lunch flights :-)

I just ordered another Spirit as well :-)

Thank you very much!

I wish you the best for such tuning and also happy Easter.
