Hi ZeXx86,

is there a new firmware available? Your link suggests so: spirit-fw-1.0.25.2.bin.

This is only minor update to help with this problem, for nearly all pilots it is not important.

Thanks for the link, I may try it. I definately appreciate the hints & tips. I will continue to look objectively at whats happening with the unit as I'd love it to work for my fleet.

I'll respond with todays test results in my original thread.

Thank you,

John,

I have tried moving the balls in on the servo arms (then re-doing the geometry/6degrees and all that) but that made no difference, so I'm back to the Gaui recommended hole.
Something I could suggest though is that if you have the old style swashplate with the long ball connectors, use two short balls instead for connecting the rod to the blade grip arms, this may help.
Otherwise I am just using a higher head speed (or lower if you prefer) out of the range where the wobbles occur.

I just managed to get the vibe analysis clean - with main blades on. In terms of the numbers shown on the Android app, instead of approx 400% on the y-axis at approx 2100 RPM, I see 30%.

All I did was tighten the feathering shaft up (a lot, until I thought i might break something).

This reduced a small (<1 mm) amount of lateral play I had in the feathering shaft.

I haven't flown it yet, but I'm sure keen to see if this eliminates the wobble.

My head has zero play but as you have found out it doesn't make a difference with the X5 and aileron shakes. It is very wierd and I cant find anything mechanically or electronically wrong with mine. About the only thing I have not tried is extra bearings in the torque tube but i believe that may only be a possible cure for high frequency vibrations? Using the Spirit vibe analyser I have less than 10 as a peak at any throttle setting (it's a very smooth and balanced heli) so no extra bearings for the moment.
I was going to try the new formula head and swash but I see you have that on yours and still have the same problems :(

Not sure where you guys are with your cyclic wobbles, but I have them on my Goblin 570 at my lowest headspeed (2100). At 2300 and 2400 it has no wobbles. I've checked blade balance and grip tightness and they look fine. I ran the Spirit vib test (on carpet with blades off) and vibes were very small at all three speed on all three axes so it only happens with the blades on. The only thing I have not tried is adjusting my gov gain down a little, and turning on extended signal processing. Looking for other possible ideas.

Could it be 2100 is just an airframe resonance frequency?

With mine I don't have wobbles at a low or a high head speed just a small range in between (so it could be a resonance issue?). If you have wobbles at low head speeds but not high then it's more likely to be a damper problem, often too hard a damper for the head speed. Are they just cyclic wobbles or head nodding as well?

I would call it a wobble. Doubt it's resonance because it did not do this with the iKON, which just came off.

After all I have tried, this is what helped reduce my problem (it was the only thing left, I think?)
I removed the the torque tube, removed the single bearing, checked the torque tube was true then replaced the original bearing with two bearings and rubber spacers from a Trex 600 (perfect fit) at uneven spacing (180mm from the end facing the nose and 200mm from the tail end)
I thought this mod might make a difference even considering how smooth the heli' was beforehand without blades using the vibe analyser (blades off)
On a side note my head and tail blades (all carbon fibre) were dynamically balanced using a Dubro, I made no change to them after this mod.
The best I understood, is that within the small rpm range that was causing the wobbles there must have been a small resonant vibration due to the torque tube setup that was upsetting the gyro?
This mod may not work for everyone but it helped me.
