Tomas,

Attached are two options for wiring. Which would you recommend? Any other changes you would recommend? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

in case the receiver can handle high current, I will prefer option 1.
But in case you are not sure or it can't handle at least 10A continuously, it would be better to use option 2.

I just looked at the specs for the FrSky X6R receiver:

Operating Current: 100mA@5V

Which is 0.1A...100 times less than the 10A you recommend it be able to handle. Therefore, I think option 2 is the best way to go for this setup. This will ensure that ample power is available to the Spirit if/when needed.

Operating Current means that receiver consumption is 100mA.
You will need to know Max. Allowed Current Load.

Okay I finally found a post from someone at FrSky who states that the maximum sustained current is 2A with peaks no higher than 4A. A little later someone said it was actually double that, but it doesn't matter. Pushing power into both the Rx and the Spirit is definitely the better way to go. This is option 2 in my schematic.
