Will the WAVE transmitter work completely wirelessly with Heli-X similar to how VBar Touch/EVO radios interface wirelessly with Heli-X via WiFi?

It will work wirelessly with all simulators, not just Heli-X.

Just to be clear, do you mean the WAVE radio will work wirelessly with all simulators WITHOUT needing additional hardware, like some sort of USB receiver connected to the computer? Also, will the the WAVE radio come with this wireless simulator compatibility feature right right from the get go when it releases, or will this be a feature that will "eventually" be added at a later date? Thank you.

You will not need ANY other hardware. It will work wirelessly with all simulators that can be controlled by a Joystick device through WiFi. It will work by creating virtual Joystick device in your system and communicate with it directly, making it compatible with any software that can work with Joystick-like devices. This mean basically all simulators will be supported out of the box.

Wow. The WAVE radio will set a new high bar for radio/transmitter interface with computer flight simulators. I love it!!

This is not entirely new. You can also do this with an ELRS-Tx like the TX16.

I know very little about open source radios like RadioMaster and FrSky. The only "main stream" RC helicopter radio I am aware that can be used for wireless simulation without any additional hardware (no USB receiver, no RX2SIM, etc.) is the Mikado VBC Touch and EVO radios, but these Mikado radios wireless simulator connections are limited to the Heli-X simulator (and I believe ClearView simulator as well), and they can only connect via the 2.4GHz WiFi band. This Spirit WAVE radio is specified to work wirelessly with virtually ALL the flight simulators via both 2.4GHz AND 5GHz bands (or possibly bluetooth as well), without any additional hardware.
Can the RadioMaster radios be used with flight simulators wirelessly without needing any additional hardware?
