If i plug my battery in on the bench/ picnic table and the spirit GT initializes and then i carry it to my take off spot the heli acts weird and spins on take off. If i initialize it at the take off spot(on the ground), it does fine. What and how can i fix this?

This is more than likely happening because the heli is trying to point itself back to the the original direction when it was inialized.
Myself after the battery is plugged in at the pits and carried out to the filed, I adjust the rudder so the tail blades are at near zero pitch or just a little left yaw. This should eliminate the need for the heli to change directions on spool up.

Glad it worked and solved your problem.
Thank you for posting that it worked which, I am sure, is a great help to others with the same problem.
