Hello, I'm new here and therefor some words to my person. I'm 61 years old and living in Germany.

I'm flying rc models since round about 30 years and the last 10 years mostly helicopter models.
Currently I'm flying following models: Logo 690SE, Vodoo600, Sab Raw580 and a Logo 550.
The Raw580 is latest and has a spirit gtr installed. The other models are equipped with a vstabi.

The decision to use the spirit gtr rested on the good support for my jeti transmitter and the
hobbywing motor controller inside the raw580.

I did the first flights with the default values and no surprises. The heli flew without issues. So far so good.
However the flight behavior wasn't so nice. My flight style is as I'm flying an airplane. I'm flying loops,
turns and other simple aerobatic maneuvers of the F3C program and my feeling is, my spirit gtr
with the default settings don't like these flight style.

What might be better:

1. Control pulses for the rotor level do not fill directly. Smooth and controlled hovering is therefore unusually difficult.

2. A smooth exit from turns and loops is difficult, as the model behaves somewhat stiffly
in this flight phase and follows the control movements unwillingly.

3. When flying from one end of the airfield to the other at the same altitude, the helicopter tends to undercut.
The higher the speed, the stronger.

I tried to improve the flight behavior with the hints in the tuning guide. But couldn't achieve any significant improvement.
The behavior described in point 3 in the list could be reduced with a change of the value from 2 to 1 in elevator filter.
But the change from 2 to 1 was too much. In my case a value of 1.6 would be fine.

What do I have to do to improve the flight behavior?

Regards

Save your settings from the unit here. then it will be easier to advise.
Also more information about the helicopter ...

i have sab goblin raw 580 wit spirit and is perfect my model.
for me it all depends from how you set the 0 degrees the +13 and -13.
Many people get the system wrong.

When you use digital pitch gauge absolutely do not let it turn off.
Put a bubble digital pitch gauge and set 0.
After put the digital pitch gauge on a blade and put the blade on the nose after right after tail after left, the important thing is that you always measure on the same blade and digital pitch gauge it must not be turned off.
Do not put the digital pitch gauge first on a blade after on the other blade.
with everything standard spirit It flies really well

I did it a bit different. Yes, you are right. All measurements for the blades should be done with one calibration of the gauge without switching off between.

for raw 580 you put this

on t hub and level tail-noise and left-right why raw it is inclined
after you use this bubble on digital pitch gauge
but maybe it's better if you see my video just look at the 0 part (I speak Italian but on youtube select automatic translation subtitles and subtitles appear in your language)
the spirit is perfect It all depends on how you set it up my parameters they are all standard
when you select the wizard asks you what model you have I selected sab raw 500/550/570/580 and stop I didn't change anything else.
Maybe some setup you didn't do well because there is nothing special to do.
Check out my method
https://youtu.be/YM6Caw9GZh0?si=lEFAni6Drrp5HpQG

you what method did you use?
on my channel there is video and see how well it flies sab goblin raw with spirit
it is identical to the helicopters in the simulators

Hello,

some of your points indicate there is something wrong in the setup or mechanics.

Quote:
1. Control pulses for the rotor level do not fill directly. Smooth and controlled hovering is therefore unusually difficult.

It should be significantly more stable with default settings than VBar. It seems you decreased Sticks Deadband to 2. This will cause all sort of troubles. I recommend to set it at least to 10 with JETI radio.
VBar is using EXPO function by default - for swashplate around 30% to be comparable to Spirit. For Tail it is around 40%.

Quote:
2. A smooth exit from turns and loops is difficult, as the model behaves somewhat stiffly
in this flight phase and follows the control movements unwillingly.

I recommend to set Flight Style to 4 - 6. Unfortunately I do not understand what do you mean by stiffly.
Make sure that all push rod linkages are moving completely with no friction.
Decreasing Cyclic Gain to 40 - 50% can help too.

3. When flying from one end of the airfield to the other at the same altitude, the helicopter tends to undercut.
The higher the speed, the stronger.

What do you mean by undercut?
It seems your Cyclic Ring value is very low. For this reason model has no travel to compensate at elevator axis.
Increase at least to achieve +/- 10°. Especially if using so big Pitch range you have to set bigger cyclic range, otherwise many other problems will happen. This could introduce your problem 2).

Setting Elevator Filter to 2 - 3 is recommended.

set expert setting-
stick deadband 10
rpm sensor filter 6
ADVANCED
elevator filter 2
rudder delay (tell me the name of your tail servo)
cyclic feed forward 5
rudder dynamic 6
SENSOR
cyclic gain 55
cycli and rudder 8
and in servo is impossible
that you didn't have to move the three servants!!!
with servo 90° you must have your head aligned the photo is the same in all position and 0 degrees in the blades (I repeat the Sab Goblin Raw 580 It has landing gear inclined Isn't it because you didn't calculate the inclination?)

Now Can you tell me your cyclic and tail servos?
zexx86 he's right you have some settings wrong, for the setting did you follow the wizard spirit's order?
This is the setup of my sab goblin raw 580 with spirit gtr and jeti (my model is perfect and we have the same model

Hi zeXx86,

thank you for your feedback. The same to franz88.

I did my first flight with a deadband to 10 (default) and this was a bit strange to me. Normally I'm flying with a little deadband. that gives me a better control. With a higher deadband I have a gap in the stick movements around the center. With my DC16 it's no problem and it could be an advantage if someone use a DS16 or other handheld tx and move the sticks with the thumbs. But it's ok. I'm changing the value to 5. That should be ok for me.

The stabilization itself is perfect. Yes, better as a vbar. I agree. That's not the issue. What I'm missing is the smooth control around the center. I'll try a higher expo between 40% and 50%. Maybe it would be better. The tail is ok for me. Yes, I'll verify a higher value. It could be that I like it :)

In this case stiffly means the heli won't follow exactly the stick movement as in other situations.

In respect to all the hints I will do the following steps:
    - Make the spirit setup again with the wizard and the preset of the Goblin 580
    - Change the deadband to 5
    - Decreasing Cyclic Gain to 40 - 50%
    - Set Flight Style to 4 - 6
    - Set the max pitch to 12.5 (increase the headspeed if it's not enough)
    - Check the head geometry (also the elevator servo under pressure; higher voltage?)
    - Increase the expo (DC16; at the moment it is 30% on all axis)
    - Increase at least to achieve +/- 10° (cycling ring)

All these steps might take time and I will give you a feedback after the first test flight.

go to the wizard and select preset goblin raw 580(my values are taken from there and my sab goblin raw 580 is PERFECT)
I'm having a doubt, what servos do you use for cyclic and tail?
the name of the servants?
but you what a procedure you used to set 0 degrees of the blades?
