Hello Tomas,
i have a strange behavior after failsafe-return-
My components are Spirit GT, remote control Horus X10S Express (ACCESS), master receiver Archer R8Pro, slave receiver Archer RS - I did the following test to test the failsafe on my helicopter - As with a normal start, I first switched on the remote control, then the battery in the helicopter - the initialization, up/down as usual, everything was fine - I then selected the lowest speed, waited a moment until this was reached and then switched off the control, after a short time the drive stopped and all positions remained the same as with the Start of the heli, that means failsafe works and there are no unwanted rudder movements, that's the way it should be! After a short wait I switched the remote control back on, the connection was up again, but the rudder position was not like it was at takeoff or with the failsafe - the sticks on the remote control remained untouched - My tail rotor is normally set with me with a small advance to the right, however after the return the rudder is on the other side, so now on the left !! This position does not correspond to the failsafe position - why is the position different when the signal returns? That must not be ! At first I thought my failsafe setting was wrong and I saved the failsafe positions again - unfortunately that didn't change anything, but exactly the same behavior, which is definitely not correct! For information, the battery or the power supply was never interrupted and then such a behavior?
What I can't say, because you can't see it obviously, is whether the swashplate also has the values set in the software for the individual servos or not, but as I said, you can clearly see on the rudder that something is wrong -

Many thanks for the answer !

Best Regards
Matthias

Hello,

Rudder position can change if there is some function such as Revomix or Gyro Gain that changed. You have more banks and there is different settings between banks.
Normally tail position will remain same before and after failsafe if Gyro Gain and stick positions are identical during Failsafe.
Have you set the Failsafe by clicking Set Failsafe button in the Channels window?

Hello Tomas,

Revomix is not used and the gyro gain wasn't changed, this is fixed on an switch and I touched nothing -
I have choosen Failsafe by clicking Set Failsafe button in the Channels window as usual -
In the transmitter is failsafe set to no pulses nothing other - this you have to choose because if not then you get the message failsafe not set...
I do this with my other helis in the same way.
As I said I does this a second time because I thought I have it done wrong - but I got then the same behavior -

We tested the behavior with current version and tail position has not changed at all.

Can you tell me what protocol you are using?

Is some channel out of range? For example over +/- 100% during failsafe?

Hello Tomas,

the protokoll is F.Bus from FrSky -
All Channels are in +-/100% in the diagnosis tab -
How can I see that ? The failsafe as tested works perfect only by the return of the signal I get this problem -
Maybe I have to say that I have an additional equipment, this is an Buffer Pack with 50 F from 1st Buffer-Pack 50F V4.81 for helis ? But as I said there is no voltage dip - the bec is working as usual - my ESC is an YGE Aureus 135 A. Is there a connection, I can't imagine it -

I can test again, if I see any problem of an channel ? But can i see it at all?

Hello Tomas,

I have now made two tests -
The first one was to disable the buffer pack and tried to make a failsafe situation by shutting down the transmitter - all worked fine, failsafe as wanted ! But later on the return of the signal I get the same problem as before. The rudder was now left orientated and not right as adjusted -

The second test: Disable the gyrogain over channel 5 -
In this test I disabled the possibility to change the gyro gain over the transmitter, I disabled the channel 5 and adjusted the gyro gain in the FBL directly to the desired value -
I saved this adjustment in the FBL and started the system new -
Then I did the test again - failsafe as wanted ! I started the transmitter again and I got after the return of the signal the false position of the rudder again !

Since this time a change in the gyro gain is impossible, the "problem" must be found in the firmware because this behavior cannot be reproduced - the previous values may not be output correctly, that's my guess -

Thank you,

can you share your settings file please?

I fear the problem is in the radio that is sending such value during power on for a fraction of second.
Do you have enabled ADC filter or something like this?
Tomorrow we will test with EthOS and try to reproduce with F.Bus.

Hello Tomas,
Yes I have enabled the ADC filter, is this a problem ?

Here you get the settingsfile from Bank0:

Hello Tomas,
today I made a new test of the failsfe behavior -
I didn't shut down the transmitter for this - the transmitter was always on -

A other possibility to test the failsafe is a simple thing in the FrSky transmitter -
Unfortunately, I didn't think of it right away, but then I remembered - in order to be able to test it when it is switched on, you only have to switch the model ID in the RF module and then wait until the announcement Telemetry lost comes - after a short time the message came and the whole thing went into failsafe - the failsafe was just as expected in order!
Then I simply changed the model ID back to the original value, the connection was restored, but unfortunately with the same result as switching the transmitter back on - the rear was unfortunately set back to the left instead of the right side (toe-in) - This definitely rules out the possibility that this is a switch-on problem from the transmitter - so the error must be in the firmware after all, I don't have any other explanation -

Have you been able to find out something about what's causing it?
You said yes, you wanted to test it promptly -

Thanks for the answer !

Best regards
Matthias

Hello,

we have tried FBUS with Failsafe and can't reproduce the issue.
I think all this is because you are using different settings between banks and when using failsafe it will just switch between these banks.

Please check Bank Comparison. Unfortunately your settings file you shared is only from one bank.
