Brand new spirit gtr configured for auto rescue as well as normal rescue.
Normal rescue activated by switch I have set +8 pitch for 1.6 secs then +4 pitch after and that works fine just like my spirit rs.
When I activate auto rescue the heli just climbs in the air, I thought it would just set the height for auto rescue to activate! What am I doing wrong? Sent pics of setup

Pretty sure thats how it works, at least my GT does. When you activate Auto Rescue, it will climb for the duration you set, 1.6 sec, then give the control back to you. Leaving the switch on, from this point it will self rescue at the height the switch was first activated.
Tip, i usually have it on a low head speed when setting the height so it doesnt rocket into the clouds. Then change to the head speed desired for my flight. Seems to work well.

That's great all working correctly then, did it change from previous versions?, as I was informed nothing happened when switching to auto rescue it just set the height.

Have only had mine for a year and a half, not sure of the version when I got it. But this is how it has always worked. Can not speak of previous versions from that. Think you were misinformed.
Glad you got it working. Enjoy flying more and crashing less
