New Rescue and Stabilization: Engaging Options with Different Channels

Hi all, I need some help to get it done properly.

Using Futaba S-BUS

I am trying to assign a channel for Stabi Normal.
I am trying to assign a channel for Stabi Acro.
I am trying to assign a channel for Stabi Rescue (at the moment using bank switch).

The idea is to fly on stabi normal aways and engage stabi acro for acrobatic manoeuvres.
and in case rescue is ready to work in case of problems.

So let's say:
• channel 8 for activating the Stabi function
• channel 9 for activating Stabi Normal
• channel 10 for activating Stabi Acro
• channel 11 for activating rescue

I try this combination but don't know if the unit is on Stabi, normal, or Acro from the diagnostic tab.
Is there a way to know from the software if I am on Stabi normal or Acro?

Also, I don`t know if I can make a switch for rescue without using banks.

I am using banks to have stabi on bank 0 and rescue on banks 1 & 2, but I think it will be beneficial to get separate channels for each function so I can make the combination of stabi normal and acro.

Any help will be appreciated.

Theo

Hi Theo,
you have two posibilities to set the stabi or rescue functions -
The first posibility is to set an dedicated channel for stabi function with the respective Banks with the wanted function as rescue normal rescue acro or eg. stabilisation etc. ...

The other way is to select the respective funcions to an dedicated channel as you said:
• channel 9 for activating Stabi Normal
• channel 10 for activating Stabi Acro
• channel 11 for activating rescue

If the wanted function is working you see it here in Spirit Settings:

The other way is to test it simple with the model and with activated stabi or rescue and so on -
You can do that on your workbench -
Take the heli on the back and activate for example rescue normal, the swashplate will move in that way that the heli will be pushed back to normal position -

Regards
Matthias

But do you really NEED to use the bank switching?
Im Not. It just makes more posible issues..

I have only assignes one switch to stabi scale, and one to return to home.
Im in 99% og the time flying witg stabi switched OFF and fly unstabilized (i fly fpv)

I rearly use scale . Only if im going in for a tight landing or hovering .

tried the bankswitching and it hust confuses me to be honest. Since you can change some parametres, but not the ones id like to change

Hello guys. Just out of curiosity can you guys explain advantage of using stabilization normal over acro?
What do you guys use it for ?? I have set stabilization acro ( channel ), but I find it quite difficult to fly. It fells like I need to push heli in flight all the time ( gain set to 55).

@tmaster77 can you explain what channel 8 Stabilization Function do ? Cheers.

Good question. I felt no difference between stabi acro, stabi normal or stabi scale. Except for some more limitations and reaction speed.

Ao if you really wanna fly full acro/3d you should turn all this off.
But if you use any of the stabs you have flightstyle and feed forward settings thats will inpact reaction of your heli.

First time i tried going inverted with stabi acro i shit my self, i had to force the heli beyond 90degree point where i alsmot lost 20-30m of height before i could return.. im
Soo glad i was very high up flying FPV when i tried this.

Hi all,

Stabi Normal Stabilisation mode is a feature of the unit which helps the pilot to maintain flight position. The model is fully controlled by the pilot but unlike normal flight mode, it has tendency to return to the horizontal level automatically.
good for learning or relax flight...

Stabi Acro
This mode is great choice for learning 3D maneuvers. If you are not sure, you only have to release sticks and the model will level back to the horizontal position - normal or inverted (which is closer)
In this mode it is possible perform a flips or rolls as you are used to do from normal flight mode.

sounds legit, but lets say my switch is to activate stabi scale..

what mode is it in when i turn off stabilisation?

it for sure does not feel like normal mode.. if i assign switch to normal stablisation, it again feels different..

Hi Rdlx3m,

there iin no mode for off stabilisation, is just off.

assign stabi by channel if you got enogh channels

* one switch for stabi scale so move the switch to "ON" stabi scale ON
* or move switch to "OFF" so no stabi.
This will be on one channel

You can assign 3 channels, so one for stabi normal, another for stabi acro, and one for stabi scale...
when you switch all channels to off, so no stabilisation

I hope this make sense

fully understand that, but you mentioned that stabi normal is the same as *normal mode* for me sounds like stabi OFF ? or did i missunderstand.

at least for me everything OFF is the only way to go for my type of flying ;I^

There are 4 modes for stabilization:

Normal
Acro
Scale
Coaxial

if none of the modes is sellected then STABI is OFF!
