Hi,

I've just come from the airfield. Unfortunately, today was not such a good day. My RAW 420 with Spirit GTR crashed.

It happened when I changed from bank 0 to bank 1. The heli simply could not be steered any more and crashed. Engine off or bailout, all did nothing, it was still in the air for about 20 seconds and then crashed. I could do nothing.

Can I now read out the GTR at home somehow to see what the problem was? Even if you fix the helicopter again, it's a stupid feeling if you don't know the cause.

regards
Daniel

Hello,

I am sorry to see you are having troubles. That is very sad.
Could you please take a photo of your wiring? Please make sure there is nothing connected at the E2 pin (top pin).

Bank Switching will do nothing unexpected, but rather what is programmed there could make big difference.
For example if bank has programmed rescue or programming of something, this cause problem.

Could you also share your settings file?

I am sure we can find what caused this problem so it can't happen anymore.

Thank you very much for your help.

I'll take some photos tomorrow and upload the setup file. I have to say that it was not the first flight of the helicopter. It must have been flight number 15. I have flown in idl 1 for 2 minutes before and everything was ok. It really happened exactly when I switched to idl 2.

Ah, so it was Idle change not Bank?
This mean change of RPM, right?

This is combined in my case.

Bank 0 = IDL 1
Bank 1 = IDL 2
Bank 2 = IDL 3

Hello,

thanks for the details.

1. I highly recommend to not bent antennas like this. They are loosing major part of performance and also are damaged if bent in sharp angles like near the unit enclosure. So model can have only around 20% of the transmission range. But this was very likely not reason for the crash.
2. I can see blue connector in the unit. Where this connect goes? Is it E2/RPM/EXT port? Is there some wire going at the top position in this port?

This may look worse in the photo than it is. The antennas are not bent. They are really only very lightly placed in the bend, without force. But I can change that if you like. If it had been reception problems, the engine would have stopped immediately. I just checked the failsafe again and it works.

The telemetry plug from the YGE 65 is connected to the E1 port. EXT/RPM/E2 is not connected.
