I'd like to add RPM sensor to one o my helis, to get RPM readings from the rotor head during autorotations (when motor stops and ESC reports 0 RPM). But I also use ESC telemetry and I need it for mAh.
So question is, what telemetry will I get on my radio, when Spirit has 2 different sources for RPM? Is it possible to get data from the sensor and not from ESC?

Hello,
when RPM wire is connected then you will get readings from this wire. Otherwise ESC telemetry RPM reading is used. Unfortunately there is protection that when motor is turned off with throttle hold it will always display 0. It is because some ESCs and sensors are sending invalid readings when motor is not running.
It can be bypassed by not decreasing Throttle channel value that much, but few percent above 0%.

Great, thx. Actually THR is always ~25% during autorotations for bailout to work, so it should be all good. Great news.
