Hello, we make our Test flight this weekend disconnected the HW Fan, but it was not better.
We already know this ventilator issue more than a year ago.
By the way, can you please recommend us Ventilator for HW that not interfered on the Spirit,
why you not offer this ventilators in your Shop ?

Hello,

it is very important that there is no ESC fan from the HobbyWing on your helicopter. This is what you said is on the model.
When there is ESC fan then half of the features might not work properly in the Spirit unit, because unit thinks motor is running as it produces a lot of vibrations.
GeoLink and also Spirit unit is for example also starting logging depending on this measurement when motor is on and off depending on vibration level.
And it also calculate lift off altitude. So if you are using the ESC fan then it is unable to measure lift off altitude and then all functions such as Altitude Limit, RTH (altitude maintaining) or Auto Landing will not work properly, because it can`t know where 0 meter altitude actually is.

Altitude Limit and all GeoLink altitude functions are based mainly on GPS/GNSS measurement so it does not matter if barometer is imprecise or precise. However it use 3 different altitude readings from different sensors to be very precise. But none will work well if there is no moment when model is calm - If Vibration Level is not 0% before motor is started.

But there is another Barometer in the SPIRIT GT :?:

Also if you are using the ESC fan with so high vibrations then GeoLink and Spirit unit logging will not work correctly too.

HobbyWing and some very cheap ESC fans are unfortunately not balanced and are producing vibrations like a running motor.
You can check the Vibration Level in the RealTime logging or telemetry.

4ds files carry only settings of the unit, but Spirit GT and GTR can record thousands of logs from actual flights. If you can provide them then it is possible to see what the unit see.

Altitude Limit should engage faster than what is set in case the model is flying fast, depending on how Triggering Acceleration parameter is set. So it can engage in 30 meters instead of 20 meters for example to avoid crash in high speed. Because in high speed model require more time to recover.

Looks, you not understood my description. The model was not flying fast anny time by activation of the RTH function, it was all the time Hovering on all the RTH Test's.

Dr. Fleming: It seems that all your problems could be caused by this, because for you also RealTime logging does not work properly which is clear sign that something is wrong with the ESC fan. So if you are using ESC fan, please retry it without ESC fan.

Then please send flight log from the Spirit GT and GeoLink, it will be very well visible what is happening and we can find at which moment the problem is ocurring.
Please log GeoLink Position - Latitude/Longitude, Altitude, Speed, Vibration Level and all Channels.
Enable only Altitude Limit and disable all other GeoLink features before testing.

I already send you the Flight log this morning, from 8 Flight it was possible only one to get.
There is a problem too, with recording the Flight Data, before was ok.
Specifically and adding up we are in a more worse situation than a year ago.
I see this as a Hobby, but I don't want to waste any more hours on this, and continuously risk my Heli's,
one of them was already destroyed while doing tests.

Hello,

you sent one log from GeoLink, but RealTime log is still missing. You have not read guide that I sent maybe for RealTime logging.
From RealTime log you can find many important things because it can record everything, including channel values and vibration level.

I am sending the guide again:
http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... me_Logging

It depends on you always, we are trying to help you all the time, but we need at least particular data. Now we have at least one GeoLink log from you. If it can work for thousands pilots around the world that are using GeoLink daily, I believe it can work well for you too.
If you can provide more details, it will be very helpful and can find what is going on.

If you dont have time or you are afraid of flying, you can send us your GeoLink module and we can check it for free. I think we can`t do more. We are testing all GeoLink features almost daily to make sure it can work on as many helicopters as possible.
Or you can wait for new update if we will find any error. At the moment we are very satisfied with results. We are sure it can work that well also for you once we will find more details.

First from all I recommend to disable all features (in the Channels window and GeoLink Aid Tab) except one you want to test. Because from our experience all people with some problem had enabled almost all possible features and then were confused how it actually works.
So in case of some strange problem, it is always better to disable, unplug everything that is not absolutely needed to make things as simple as possible. Not complicated.
So only Altitude Limit enabled, not other feature. This will make it much more easy.

Thank's for the quick reply, I know my English writing is not the best,
but I think I write you today for two times , that the real flight Log not work's.

I don't understand what you mean by having more functions at the same time, or doubles or with channels and Stabi, since you always divert the subject to that side.

But I confirm that it is not Logical, since it can be seen in the TAB Diagnostic, when activating a function, you see perfectly which function is activated.
I don't know why you answer every time the same,it looks that you already have the answer's prepared , and copy and paste the answer's.

As I have explained to you several times more than a year ago, I have been on the subject of RC with GPS for almost 25 years, I am not a novice, and I tell you please of not treating me anymore like a novice.

What is clear, that the most important function "Altitude Limit",
it doesn't work well and consistent. The first flight works approximately ok, then on the second flight test it,
and do some Looping’s and quick manoeuvres, it starts to catch the Heli at about 15-20 meters, the setup is at
7 meters. :?:
I'm not afraid of Flying, I enjoy Flying and like that the Function I activated, works as promised.

I suspect that some altitude information does not always arrive well or very late to the processor.
We will wait for another Update, there is no other.

I not have only one SPIRIT GT and GL, I have 9 Set's. And all installed in diferent Heli's with the same issue.

I am developer of the system so I know what is needed in order to proceed with the problem.
I written you many times what is needed to do, often I even asked 10 times for very simple details about model, but it was always big problem. Very often the only thing is you are filling threads with words "it does not work" and "helicopters crashed".
So it is sometimes very hard to help.
I was writing to turn off all functions, because it is always better to make certain it can in no case affect the rest. Because I and also often pilots can`t be sure that in some flight mode radio will not engage such feature.
Testing on the bench is often different with what is happening in the air.

I made many times suggestions to you, but you often took your own route instead. And I am repeating the same things, because you still didnt do this obviously. It does not matter if you fly 25 years or 1 year. Pilot that has less experience can set things more precisely. And I can see it very often that very experienced pilots can`t do simple things or overlook some and then they are convinced how bad some product is. Simple because he know how it should be done.
So please do what I am asking if you need help.

If you can`t see any RealTime log then please clear all logs first - in the RealTime Log Viewer. Then you have to see a log after each flight. If not, please disconnect ESC fan.

I get the impression that you don't read what I write in detail,
there are no Flight Logs to delete, since it does not record them.

I have mentioned several times that the fans are disconnected, and I have asked you several times to tell us which fans are compatible, please.

That a novice person has more experience, than a person
I've been doing this for thirty years, sorry but it's the first thing I hear.
Me in our Club and in others, the veterans always
they have to help the novice to get the helis up and running.

Please don't get sidetracked from the main problem.

I have not replied to your question, because I have no reply to answer. This mean I dont know which ESC fan is compatible. We reported the issue to HobbyWing few years ago. So we hope they will fix it soon. We will find compatible ESC fan when we find a time for testing them.
As far as we know there was never any issue with other brands, if the ESC was not damaged in some way. I believe that almost any fan that has 30x30mm rated for 12V will work well.
Or you can get fan directly for R/C models such as this:
https://profimodel.cz/cs/prislusenstvi/ ... cB#295622D
However I recommend fan with a lower RPM such as this:
https://www.palmat.cz/ventilator-12v--3 ... 00-ot-min/
It is much cheaper too.

Have you clicked at the "Clear Logs" button? Please answer to this question with "Yes/No". Please see my attachment which button I mean. It does not matter whether there is log or not. I am trying to help you with the issue why you can't see the log.

Then if you can't see recorded logs after a flight, please verify that logging is really enabled in the Logging Configuration - see attachment.

I have reset the memory of the Flight Log, but as I said before it was empty.
 I have solved the problem with the HW fan by putting some silentbloks cuted from an old bicycle chamber, this help's that the vibration not transfer it to the base.
Attached photo, it also helps not to tighten the two screws to the limit, better put more Logtite on the screws.

Not need to buy another Fan from other manufacturer , still can use the original Hobbywing Fan.

We will Test this weekend again, and see if I can catch some Flight Log.

This tip is from a veteran. 8-)

We have been doing tests today again, and we have found that by removing the glue directly to the spirit box from the connectors, the altitude limit function is more accurate.
Strange since you told me last week that all the data comes from the GPS not from the Barometer of the SPIRIT GT, in the photo you can see now that we have put the glue on the back of the connectors.
By the way see the installing position of the GL, it's under the Tail boom more protected.
We have also realized that the first few flights everything went well, except for the Return to home function, the Heli continues to wobble a little bit, but I think when reducing the speed of this function can be solved( Your side).
Starting from the 5th flight, a Heli started doing strange things again with the Altitude Limit function.
On the 6th flight, I disconnected the ESC fan and the altitude Hold function with version 2 and the Triggering value 1, and working fine, the only thing,
it was that the Heli saved sometimes before the programmed height.
And sometimes the Heli goes up after activation of the Altitude Hold, and sometimes not.

From what I see is that the electronics when it gets hotter, is more and more sensitive.
Attached Data of the eight flights made today.

It's not possible to upload the Flight Logs?
