What is the reason on FW 3.4.1 to not have the choice to adjust the Altitude limit meters in the GeoLink Software !?? :oops:
Now every time you like to switch it on, you must stop the Flight and must go down to the desire altitude Limit,
also makes not sense at all specially for the Pilot with more experience, you must keep in mind that a Battery has around only 4 minutes flight time, and this Action to go down every time you like to switch it on is not the best.
Because the problem of the function altitude limit is that some times he rescue the Heli to earlie, depend on the wind speed, even if you have the value " Trigering Accelaration" on 0, also in 1 it's inpossible to have the function on. Some times the Function rescue the Heli on 10 Meters to earlier , by the way it's dangerous too!
Maybe for beginners makes more sense, until he switch on and Flight al the time on High altitude!
But I prefer as it was, altitude adjustment in the software, and not on the Flying every time must goe down! :ugeek:
By the way, sometimes not works on the first trying!?? :ugeek:

Hello,

it seems that you do not understand present behavior.
You do not have to land at all, actually you can set new altitude limit anytime during flight. And also how many times you want, with single battery and without landing.

Please read changelog for the latest version. There behavior is described. I think this can help you.

Hello, I never mention have to land, but to activate the function, you must position the Heli on the desired altitute, correct ?
But again, why go backwards by an FW Update! :ugeek:

Hello,

you have to enable function in the air in any case also with previous firmware. So it will not add any work and you can easily change altitude that you consider safe for what you are trying.
Especially when you are flying at different fields you do not have to program anything and not think about settings, because you exactly know at which altitude it will trigger without remembering.
It is working just like our Automatic Rescue for Spirit GT/GTR, now both features are behaving on par.

This change allows also to remove imprecisions of barometer reading if flight is longer, because you can reengage the function if ambient pressure changed significantly.
With previous version it was needed to repower the model. If model was flying for over 15 minutes, especially where main battery/fuel is only replaced while unit is running, this was causing big differences and triggering level was off by few meters for example. With new firmware this can't happen.

So you can fly piroflips with altitude limit set to 20 meters and easier maneuvers 10 meters for example. Then you can set it lower during same flight if you feel more confident. If bigger wind is present you can change altitude limit within seconds adding additional safety margin. This was also not possible with previous firmware without landing and reconfiguring in home or from transmitter.

Also it is much safer, because if you by mistake try to lift off with Altitude Limit enabled, it will fly normally, because triggering level is set to landing altitude. With previous firmware model fly up and pilot was often unable to realize what is happening.

I'm going to test it, in the end the most important thing is the accuracy of the "altitude function",
because if it doesn't work well, you can't fly safely, otherwise it would be counterproductive.

We have tested FW 3.4.1 with the "Altitude Limit" Function and the new method of activating it is very cumbersome, the Barometer does not have more precision either, even activating it in that mode at the desired height! Even with the value " Triggering Accelaration" at cero !! It catch the Heli in a lot of situations to earliy !
Before, the minimum height was set in the Software, and it was activated in flight regardless of what height it was at. Now every time when activates, you have to lower the Heli to activate it.
With the problem that you have to hover close to the ground, which is dangerous, a Pilot panicked because the minimum height had not been activated, but the problem that was activated later in the flight without warning,
he panicked because he had NO control over the Heli durin climbing!
It's all more dizzying than before! Also with the annoying problem that it does not activate for the first try,
you have to make several attempts to get it hooked. Once activated, the Heli climbs upwards about 15 meters, and the people who are watching it , think what the Hell it is doing all the time!?? Also looks primitive.

THEREFORE:
WE propose; Put the two options in the software, User's whoever likes the current methode one better than choose it, and use'rs who like setup the minimum height better in the software, as it has been possible before until now, choosing this. :idea:

if Altitude Limit is not activated for the first time, then I am afraid something must be wrong.
It must always activate in the first try. Maybe there is still misunderstanding of how the height is programmed.

If you deactivate the switch, then previous altitude limit programming is lost and replaced by new.

Can you send me your settings please?

At the moment we do not plan adding two possibilities, because it was causing troubles with precision.

Described behavior looks really strange and wrong as if something is programmed incorrectly. Resulting behavior of the rescue is completely identical as with previous version, only altitude limit is programmed differently.

Other possibilitiy is that your unit is loosing connection with GeoLink during flight. This then will cause that programming or usage of the function can be temporarily turned off for safety reasons.
You will see error messages in the log about lost connection with GeoLink in that case.
I think that this is happening. If yes, the problem must be resolved as soon as possible.

Is it possible to downgrade the SPIRIT ? I don't like for activate the function " Altitude Limit" everytime to go down close to the ground with the Heli to activate it !

Yes, you can downgrade at any moment.

I think we will have solution. With a negative range of the channel that will activate it user can define the altitude limit level.
In this way you can engage it at any moment for same altitude limit and at the same time use same altitude and at the same time define it anytime at the field.
