On my Align 600XN I have measured high levels of vibration when strapped down, as displayed on my laptop. I cannot use the USB lead when flying, so I am relying on the Tx screen to monitor the vibration in flight.

First flight may be 12th Jan!

What level is acceptable on the screen?

I have added a Jeti Assist foam pad under the Spirit GTR to try and reduce the levels, but so far not run the engine in this condition, after being advised on another forum vibration is always much worse when tethered.

This heli has a scale Hughes 500MD body.

Today's maiden flight went very well. Minor changes made to Tx throws, rudder gain etc., pitch and throttle curves. I'm getting used to a much higher head speed than my previous helicopters, the Align 600XN is more stable above 1,400rpm.

Levels of vibration on the ground were still quite high, but once settled down in the hover were significantly lower, typically under 35%. This was easy to see on the telemetry screen during the flight.

As a comparison, my 700X logs vibration levels on average between 8% and 11% while in the air. I admin, I have spent many hours chasing vibrations. For some reason, the heli seems to fly better when fully balanced :D

Mine is infernal combustion, so inherently vibrating unfortunately. I am very impressed with the PC software analysis of the vibration, and can see if it's worse at engine revs, head speed or tail rotor.... I haven't yet figured our how to do the analysis post flight so I can direct my efforts better.
I am very surprised at how thin the anti vibration tape supplied by Spirit is, things have changed since my old days of anti vibration mounting. I hope the Spirit system is able to cope with the much higher vibration levels from IC.
