Your diagram is correct.
I also dont know how this could happen, since we never saw burnt of this kind.

Web app is working differently, because it has different ways to determine if connection is unstable. And if it not perfect, it will retry few times - differently than Spirit Settings app. But reason for instability for Web app is same. Just with PC app it will not start at all, because it cares about connection stability more. Especially because it must work perfectly when performing firmware update.
We are selling always only the latest products and modules, with the latest firmware. Current Wifi-Link is produced for around two years and it looks little bit differently than yours.
If you are able to replace resistor, then I recommend to use 100 Ohm 0603 SMD resistor.

Mr.Tomas,

Forgive me for repeating the same question. Please confirm the subject resistor is the one on the lower right side corner on the RX circuit.

If not, please point out.

Tonight I shall place the order for a fresh unit. I am not sure it will reach me before Christams holidays start. Anyway, I shall give a try to repair this till it arrives.

Regards,

Amal

Yes, you are right. This is the resistor.

If you will select Express shipping, then it will arrive to you within 1-3 business days.

Mr.Tomas,

Thanks for the confirmation. The 0603 code came up with multiple brands and resistor tolerance 1% to 5% and 0.25W, 0.1W and 0.2W. What is the most suitable?

All will work, but 1% and the highest W is better.

If I was you, I will replace both TX and RX resistors ;-)

Mr.Urgno,

In that case I have to disturb Mr.Tomas again to find out the resistor specs of TX ! :D

Anyway, I am planning to order a new unit. The repair is just for my learning. 0603 Resistor is quite small and need to buy in bulk.

Regards,

Amal

they are both 100ohm ;)

I have to buy more than one resistor. In that case I may try to replace both of them.

Mr.Tomas,

I just received my new WiFi module. I regret to inform you that it behaves the same way as the existing one. I can get into Spirit settings via web browser but I can't use the Spirit PC program. It appears my existing Wifi unit has no issue too.

Could It be possible for you to help me to roll back to an earlier version and try. A version with 2.XX.XX. I was using this unit for sometime till it stop working recently. The last version I had use it could be V2.XX but I cant remember exact. After upgrading to latest version V3.3.3 this is the first time I am trying to use the wifi link.

For your information, I had ordered it on year 2018 together with the SP Pro FC.

Regards,

Amal
