Hi - I have a problem I hope you can help me with. I have been flying my T-Rex 450 successfully with a Spirit Pro and a single Spektrum DSMX satellite receiver. Tonight, I tried to change to a SPM4651T DSMX SRXL2 satellite receiver using the cable I purchased from Spirit Systems. I am able to bind my Spektrum iX12 radio to the SPM4651T using the button on the SPM4651T, but the Spirit Pro unit doesn't seem to accept or recognize the new receiver. I have changed to SRXL in the Spirit Settings Connections tab, but when I move the sticks on my transmitter, no movement on the heli or in the Spirit Settings app. Any suggestions for how to fix would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

did you change to SRXL or SRXL2? because you have to change to SRXL2.... and 2nd question: is the iX12 and especially the 4651T on the newest firmware?

Hi – thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I changed to SRXL2, missed the “2” in my original post. The iX12 is on the latest software version, the receiver unknown. I just took the receiver from the package and installed it. How do I update the firmware on the receiver?

Updated sw of the receiver to latest version. Still doesn't work.

Just to confirm. I am connecting my single spektrum spm4651T to the spirit pro directly using this cable:

https://store.spirit-system.com/en/acce ... cable.html

Should I be using this cable instead (dont have...)?

Thanks again for any assistance.

To bind the satellites, insert a bind plug in the SYS port for DSM2 satellites or the ELE/PIT/AIL port for DSMX satellites. Power cycling the Spirit start the bind process. Once successfully bound, the STATUS LED will go out and the satellite LED will come on. If the second satellite fails to bind, swap the satellites and repeat the bind process.

From the manual.

So try to bind it using the Spirit.

Thanks - just to let you know, I did successfully bind the receiver using the button on the receiver itself, but you are saying that I need to bind it using the bind plug as you described instead?

Hello again - I tried to initiate bind by using the bind plug as you described, but this doesn't work. I can only initiate binding by pressing the button on the receiver when I power up the heli. On the old DSMX satellite, the bind plug method worked (and needed to be used since the old satellites don't have bind buttons).

Are you using the Primary (SAT-1) connector?

LE: And are you plugging the bind plug in the ELE/PIT/AIL port?

Unfortunately, I don't have experience with Spektrum, but thought I should chip in thinking that it was just a step missed from the manual.

Just be aware of: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=885009&highlight=4651T
