Hey All.

Ok, I setup the model on my DX8 to test and initially had the same wobbles.
In desperation I took down the 6 degree geometry setting from 170 to 120 and voila, it flew without wobbles. Didn't fly for long, should of as I don't think it was the final fix, but it's flying.

So, after reverting back to the OpenTX TX16S and trying again it is hovering, feels ok but needs tuning and some things to understand. However I have some new points, so good and simply need explaining and some not so;

1. I have found it’s not just the swash plates 6 degree’s setting causing the wobbles, but the elevator filter value also. At the stock 2 it wobbles, also at 1 once provoked it starts and won’t stop. Indeed even on 0 if I stab a quick elevator command in I can see the boom bounce up and down a little.

2. Swash plate is at 90 in the 6 degree’s setting, this equates to about 3.2 degrees on my digital pitch gauge. So wondering why it needs to be this low when the manual says 6 is required. This, as pointed out to me is a critical setting but seems awefully low now.

So now it is flying and I can try some tuning as I go along to see if I can make this better.

Now onto a point I feel is a little dangerous, the tail motor control, or lack of it from the throttle channel as it should do.
With throttle hold on, if I move the model to carry it out into the back garden, the tail motor can start for no apparent reason.
I have also noted that during the geometry 6 degree checking, if the tail motor is connected, when I click the check box to snap the swahs to 6 degrees the tail starts at full power!
Not good, so to me this sounds like the unit isn’t looking for the assigned throttle channel set in the channel mapping, but at another totally not connected to the tail control at all.
Then in order to get the tail to start when spooling up, I have to apply some right rudder to make it start and this has also been mentioned on the Spirit forum, so is not limited to me. However it may be limited to OpenTX and Sbus?

As stated I am using OpenTX and I have followed the channel mapping advised, in this case AETR/gear/banks in the transmitter, so confident it’s not this setup. But am wondering if it should start with throttle in the channel order, of be at the channel 2 position which in my case is currently the aileron and it's this cannel which appears to start/stop the tail motor. So channel order RTEA or RTAE needs to be used?

I am using an FrSky V2.1.0 flashed Jumper R1F receiver sending Sbus signals into the uSpirit, maybe this is the problem?
I do not know, but to my knowledge this unit can work with OpenTX/Sbus so I'm at a loss here.

Hey buddy.

Sure, I'm checking it the way it is advised to do so and with the way the swash leans over it can only be checked like this.

Evening mate.

I have done this already even when I had the higher than expected geometry setting and there has been no apparent issues or problems noted at the blade grips or swash plate.
I am assuming you're thinking of vibration maybe or increased electrical noise bugging the FBL.
