Hi,

I am using an old but very functional JR R790 Rx... Trying to get it to work with the Spirit 2...

Everything was going fine until it was time to calibrate the Travel and Centering of the radio... The original config worked fine when connected to the servos but the Spirit 2 config says that some of the outputs (Aile,Pitch,Elev) are waaay off, they cannot be calibrated by the Config since the range is too far off, even using the travel adjustments +-150%, some barely move... Servos are Spektrum H3050s...

The Spirit 2 unit does not seem to "understand" the PWM from the JR R790 which works fine with these servos... I would have hoped that all one need do is move the sticks around, then leave them centered like the Vector...

Please Help!!!

Jim

Been trying to get this to work... The outputs of the unit are just strange...like the roll is correct but collective correct on one servo and wrong on the other... I can configure my radio and receiver to work just fine in CP mode directly to the servos, but when it's going through Spirit the outputs make no sense... I am running out of ideas, I have no idea what the Spirit unit wants from the radio..

EDIT:

Made some progress - just saw the note about single servo selected in radio - hope that is correct... Will update.

Thought I had the whole thing setup but realized that the roll leving was reversed... So tried reversing the servos in the app but it results in the pitch leveling not working right...

Please do not worry about channel centering. First try to map channels properly. So that collective pitch will move with collective pitch bar in the Diagnostic bar.
Aileron stick will move with aileron bar. Elevator with elevator bar. Rudder with rudder bar.

Once this will work, then reverse channels to obtain a proper direction. Please do not look at the servos, these are not important at all yet.
Then please save the settings and repower the unit. This will re-calibrate all the channels. So that centering will be good.

Unfortunately JR has little bit different channel layout so this is needed. But then all will work properly.

I never had a problem with centering....

As far as the bars go I guess I didn't understand what direction -100 to 100 needed to be - I did go through the setup process (several times) and everything seems to work now except the roll correction is reversed...and that's with the transmitter off... Also "reverse" where in the config or in the Tx? I'm losing my mind...

When you will go through the wizard it is important to really continue only when it is working as described in the guidelines.

So reversing anything after setup is "finished" is wrong.

First please try to achieve correct channel movement.

This mean collective pitch up = pitch bar is full.
Low pitch = bar is empty.

Aileron to right = aileron bar is full. Etc..

This must be all correct. Only then it makes sense to look at servos.

Once channels are moving well, please do not change any reverse in your radio.

From then only changes in the unit are made.

So then if servos are not moving properly, then in the setup wizard you will be guided to reverse servos to obtain correct movement.

So the only thing you have to do is to proceed exactly according instructions and not do anything else.

Went back to the Wizard... The travel adjustments were already correct... Once I get to the next step for reversing I tried every possible combination to get the swash to move correctly, including all reversed including collective (in config only) and nothing resulted in all swash axis correct - there is always one axis wrong, now the pitch axis is backwards... Some adjustments result in strange outputs...no way to reverse one axis, it doesn't work... It seems like the app doesn't understand how the servos are installed. I'm out of gas about ready to give up on this...

Check that you have the correct setup for swash and then check you have the correct servos pluged in the right ports. If you follow the wizard to the letter and double check every step as you go it will work as it should...

Nope..

PWM: Selected
Spirit 2: Selected
Swash type: Reverse 120 - Wiring correct...
Servo travel: Correct
Reversing (in config): Attempted -- failed...no combination worked

Did all that, checked and repeated numerous times....been setting up models and FCs for many years.. Nothing left to check...I wish there was...

For good measure I am taking the whole thing apart and going to go through from scratch one more time...
