I am new with Helicopters and this is my first purchase here.

I purchased the unit recently and am reading the setup.
Do I have to purchase something extra to connect it to my PC or can it be connected via WiFi or Bluetooth?

Thank you

Welcome aboard- the spirit is an awesome fbl unit.

It ships with a usb cable that connects to the 'sys' port on the fbl unit.

Do not connect anything else to the sys port like an esc, bec etc by accident as it will damage the unit.

Wifi/ bluetooth dongles are available separately so you can change settings at the field without a laptop.
You could also use the radio 'integration' if you have opentx or a comparable radio. For that, you'd need an integration cable.

Also, set up rescue and get used to holding your finger over the rescue switch on your transmitter.

This will save you so much cash you will be very happy you bought the spirit.

Also, get a simulator. I'd recommend 'accurc'. https://accurcsimulator.com/

Highly recommend using the USB cable the first time and is needed anyway unless you have Jeti radio and RS receiver.

Integration is cool but more something that you use at the field to fine tune your heli rather than set it up the first time. (Again, unless you have the new DS12 Jeti that has the wizard built in..)

I have a few videos’ that will walk you through the process. Just look at my Spirit playlist here:

Thanks good people,

I am using a Spektrum DX9. I am not a 3d flyer, never will be.

All I want is to learn to hover at this stage.
I got a 2nd hand trex 600 electric and converted it to a FBL / DFC head.

In all forums I am active, I am used to getting an email notification when someone answers. I never got notified here and decided to visit the fororum to check.

Any idea why?

Cheers

Yes, I am using a simulator - PhoenixRC and try to do 10 minutes on it each day, using the Trex-600 electric to match the actual heli I have.

Thanks

Hi Juuk,

I am using a Spektrum DX9 Black, is this TX suitable for those cables?
Thanks

Hello,

it does not matter which radio you have, but rather what receiver is in use.
But all Spektrum receivers are supported. So you will do not need anything very likely.
