For a short time I fly my heli (TREX700X) with the SPIRIT2 FBL-System. Since today also with Firmware 3.1 and the GeoLink-modul. Up to now I am really satisfied und everything works fine. Due to the fact that this software has some features which will be found in Drone-software (for example RTH) I have the following question: is it possible to programm the SPIRIT2-modul in that way to fly as a drone ? That means wenn I loose the swashplate-stick the heli will hover; but GPS controlled. I tested "Position-Hold" + "Altitude-Hold", works fine. But I have to switch this feature on or off.
Thanks for reply

Not if you are asking about some kind of "autonomous autopilot" control.
How would the system know that you lost control? Maybe Altitude-Limit would protect you if you lost control and did not react fast enough. If you realize that you lost control, then that is what Rescue if for.

Sounds like you basically want a completely different mode... Like a drone stabilize mode where the heli respond to stick input to move in a direction (definitely no 3D) and then auto level when you stop inputting pitch/roll?

@FrankFuss @yufasa
Thanks for reply... Due to the fact that I have a drone (DJI Mavic2 Pro) it would be great to have this stabilize mode. Perhaps more for scale flyers. @yufasa you described it very well. I think all needed information are in the SPIRIT-system (Geolink of course is needed). I love my new SPIRIT2 with Firmware 3.1 - congratulations to that. If there is another feature(s) that allows to do what I want, please described. And, not to for forget, this function would be a really security feature without manually interaction.

Hello,
unfortunately I dont understand what you are actually wish or missing.
Position Hold mode is behaving basically exactly as when flying with drone. If you need more freedom then Coaxial mode can be used but helicopter will be drifting. With Position Hold it will stay there, you just have to control altitude.
Alternatively you can also engage Altitude Hold with Position Hold and you do not have to do anything after releasing sticks.

I guess he wish to be able to move around the heli while in position / altitude hold so when there is no input from the TX, the heli remain still in the air

This is what I want; but how to activate ? To my understanding i have always to activate the stabi-modes (Scale, Coax..) with a separate switch.
Thanks for reply

Assign F: GeoLink Position Hold and Altitude Hold at the same channel. Nothing else is needed.
