How can I get rudder rate mode without disabling the Stabi function?

I have Stabi activated by a separate channel, not negative gain, so shouldn’t the software see a negative gyro gain and realize that there is no conflict of my intentions?

Either that, or a separate function called “F: Rudder rate mode” only possible with non-motorized tails.

In "Stabilisation (Scale)" mode it should be possible to switch between head-lock and normal/rate mode with stabilisation turned on.

I fly with Rescue Normal as Stabi via dedicated channel. On the bench I didn’t get any Rate response from the tail when going to negative gyro gain. Even with the Spirit Settings app open on my computer, I sew negative gyro gain but the Diagnostic page still said Heading Lock or whatever.

Ah, then it should be possible to use two banks. E.g. bank 0 with stabi mode "Disabled" and bank 2 with stabi mode "Rescue". Then use a second channel to enable the stabi function. Then put both functions (bank switching and stabi function) on a single switch. Depending on the radio it should also be possible to switch between bank 0 and bank 1 as long as stabilization (rescue) is disabled. And as soon as rescue is engaged switch to bank 2 and enable the stabi function.

In my case I use the following programming for a 3.-pos. switch with two channels (ch7: bank, ch8: stabi):
pos. 1: bank 0, stabi function enabled (with stabilization mode)
pos. 2: bank 0, stabi function disabled (with stabilization mode)
pos. 3 (momentary): bank 2, stabi function enabled (with rescue mode)

Since I am still learning I am able to use pos. 1 for easy launch, land and hover, pos. 2 for training without stabilization and pos. 3 for rescue in case of an emergency.

According to this page, normal/rate mode is only possible when stabi mode is disabled or stabilization scale. But I have to admin, that it would be great to control head-lock and rate mode using pos./neg. gain in every mode, when a dedicated stabi function channel is used.

Very clever with using one switch to both change banks and enable rescue/rate mode. That seems very possible.

I’d still like a simpler way to do it, but I’m happy knowing it can be done. Thanks.
