Hi eveyone. I've just purchased a brand new Spirit II for my TRex 450.

Hardware setup is OK and software as OK as it can.
I've checked, tuned, fixed and changed everything that looked not perfect on the 450. Yet...

Whatever setting I try (passed the whole day on the beast), the heli remains very imprecise.
I got some oscillations, faster if I increase rudder gain, lower otherwise, and the heli slowly rotates (something like 1 degree per second if I don't correct with the stick).
I was expecting a strong head lock as well as precise control but I'm still far from it. At least the cyclic is smooth and seems to be OK.

I've checked lots of posts of this forum but found nothing that fixed my issue.

For information, I've tried many many combinations with :
- Rudder gain from 30 to 90
- Rudder delay from 0 to 15
- Rudder dynamic from 5 to 10
- Revomix from 0 to 4
- Pirouette consistency from 130 to 200

Also tried different rudder servo frequencies (mine supports 560Hz).

Any idea is welcome!

if using align esc are you using governor mode , a known problem

Is the tail nice and loose mechanically and rudder endpoints within tolerance on the software (between 70 and 170)

My ESC is a CC Ice 50. Actually my rudder limits are 106 and 170, which is precisely the maximum. Can this cause such a problem?

You can chase you tail all day long if you change more than one setting at a time...
Put all to default and then tackle the problems:

For oscillations :
1) Rotation Rate = 8 to 11
2) make sure rudder delay is a low as your servo allow - the faster the servo the lower the value
3) Then tune the gain - if the mechanical setup is good then you should be able to tune out the tail oscillations now

Only once you get the above sorter you can go and tune Piro Consistency to get the tail to hold. Only if you have a slow servo do you touch Rudder Revomix

Of course I tried basic settings first. Piro consistency and advanced settings were tuned only after getting some ideas from this forum.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll start again from scratch following your procedure.

My tail servo is an MKS 8910A+, set to 760us and 560Hz. I guess it can handle zero delay?

@ 0.040 sec/60° (6V) I would think so

Were you measuring vibrations with Spectrum Analysis? Measurjng with tail blades would be helpful.

I am afraid but settings will probably not help here.

It really must hold precisely, especially not drifting.

Well, I've just performed a vibration analysis and...it's a mess.
It seems that my heli has problems on all axis. It has changed into a vibration machine!

Here are the pictures on the three axis :

Gonna investigate, moce more check all parts and find out what can be wrong (this heli of course has flown many many times with several modules without any problem).

Btw, can this be strongly reduced using a thicker gyro foam? I've realised that previous modules were laying on specific GAUI foam.

This seems very odd. I have never seen such bad plot.
So possibly something is extremely wrong mechanically. I recommend to unscrew pinion and try motor alone.

Can you let me know what firmware version are you using?
