Hi,

I have the problem that if I connect the Jive Telemetry cable I cannot fly as the Spirit Pro shows erratic behaviour on all axis like with static electricity. I optimised the cables but it does not change anything.

I still done the following before disconnecting the Jive Telemetry cable.
- exchanged the motor
- optimised cables
- added a ferrit ring
- grounded the tail

Nothing changed the behaviour only disconnecting the Jive telemetry helps. So what could be wrong? It happens in flight only so without mainblades everything is fine. Perhaps I should move to a Jlog to get Jive away from the satellite ports? Or any other advises?

Using firmware 2.8.

Cheers,
Nils

Hello,

are you using modified Telem UNI cable?
Is Jive telemetry configured in the telemetry window? (Not Jive Pro or TelMe telemetry)

Hi,

it is modified and telemetry is fine. But I will try it without telemetry set active tomorrow.

Before I had no issues with the Spirit (mounted on Soxos 600) and the components (Soxos 700) before. The only difference is that I merged Sprit, ESC and motor, update the Spirit and put everything on a Soxos Strike 7. The cables are as I made it on every Soxos I own. Worked fine with Jive 60HV before.

Cheers
Nils

Hi,

very interesting behaviour that let me think it is a firmware issue with Spirit. If I let the Jive Telemetry Cable connected but disabled the telemetry in the settings everything is also fine. If I would have some static electricity from motor or anything in my opinion it should be still a problem even if the Spirit does not listen on the port.

Also with 2.6.3 and a similar setup everything was fine, but this is a guess only.

Regards,
Nils

Are you sure Jive telemetry cable is connected at the correct SAT port?
If no, then you are feeding satelite port with Jive telemetry data.

This could then cause such behavior.

I checked it with the manual and yes. Correct port. Also the telemetry goes through if active. So it should be fine.

My setup are:
- Spirit Pro 2.8
- Futaba 7003SB
- Hitec 945DW
- Futaba 256HV (Tail)
- Helijive V13
- External Western Robotics BEC WITH (8.4V)
- Pyro 800
- R2 BEC Backup

Perhaps the Spirit does read something unexpected from the Jive Port and has some problems to get the servo output correctly anyhow? In the logs no endpoint or swashplate ring issue is shown during flight.

Tested old version 2.6.3 and it happens there also. So it is not related to this both versions as expected. So the interesting part is why it is gone after disconnection or simply deactivation of Jive telemetry which is a software setting. Also it seems that it does not happen with very low rpm.

Hi.

Any ideas about this behaviour?

Cheers
Nils
