Hello all,

anybody any idea what i could have screwed up? i do have a Spirit 2 [3.0.1] with SRXL2/SPM4651T [newest firmware, 2.39.0]... everything is fine, except failsafe: when i put the radio to sleep, the orange light on SPM4651T goes out immediately as expected, all channels stay on hold and the motor continues running... there is even no entry in the log of the Spirit about the failsafe / signal loss.

the same setup was fine before with SPM4649T - failsafe was recognised and motor stopped.

the things i've done is:
- Rx change SPM4649T=>SPM4651T (same pins on Spirit)
- Spirit setup change: Spektrum DSM2/X => SRXL2 & restart Spirit / Software
- once again set the channels for throttle/bank switch/rescue (they are lost during change of Rx setup)
- removed reversing on channel AX2 in iX12... was necessary before with 4649T
- all sticks to middle, motor off, pushed "set failsafe" in channels setup
- re-activated Esc telemetry (lost too during change)

as a result everything is fine on Spirit side (incl. Esc telemetry) but no failsafe. i've tried firmware [2.38.2] on SPM4651T too... but no improvement. on the other side the fades increased extremely with iX12... that was the reason for [2.39.0]. of course tried re-bind, change Spirit back to old Rx and again to 4651T etc... no success.

... any idea anyone?

nb: in addition problems with RSSI display on iX12... always full dBm or 100%... will ask Spektrum specialists ;)

FYI: i just switched back to SPM4649T... perfect as expected again. besides the absolute NO-GO (failsafe not working) the issues with RSSI% to be solved before next use. failsafe should be on Spirit side i guess, RSSI is a clear job for Spektrum - the guys there are already working on it.

SRXL2 receivers send channel data even when the link to the transmitter is lost - but it is marked as "failsafe channel data" (0x01).
Presumably, spirit doesn't recognize that?

When failsafe channel data is sent, all channels hold their last value except the throttle channel. Failsafe throttle value is the one set during binding,
i.e. you have to bind with throttle at the desired failsafe "position". Spektrum calls that "smart failsafe".

Depending on the firmware version of the RF module of some EU transmitters, all SRXL2 receivers exhibit that bug.
The latest firmware updates for the RXs fix that.

... so this would confirm what i suspected too - "to do on Spirit side". thx for your information!
