I spoke directly with Horizon about the AR6610T. I asked if the receiver would need a remote receiver for a 700 size heli and the said that it is a full size receiver and nothing else would be needed. The antennas are 6.10" (155mm) and 7.32" (186mm) about the same as the Vbar Neo. The Neo does not need a remote receiver.

In that case, I'd just use the SPM4651T alone. It's full range, too, and basically IMHO it's the same as the AR6610T "without the vario and the PWM ports".

You won't have spacial diversity, though, which can help to avoid shadowing (due to lipos, carbon, etc.)

For sure "enough" on the smaller helis.

Thoughts?

Regarding the "single cable":
Since SRXL2 features CRC checksums, a wonky cable can show up due to an increase of checksum failures.
Don't know yet, wether and how they're logged, since I do not own a Spirit, yet - but am keen on it

The AR6610T has the integrated barometer to provide altitude and vario telemetry data. It also has the ability to ad a SPM4651T if you want.

It also have a flightlog where you can see lost frames, holds, fades, rssi.I tested it the heli in the house,i went out
closed the door and have to go about 10M from the house Before the rssi drops to 75%.
And whidh rangetest aktivated the rsssi still show 10% outside the door.
I think there is no need for a additional remot.Mount the antennas so that one can be seen no matter howe the
heli is orientated.[img]

+1 on the location of the AR6610T.

i am fully with you... on larger helis (600/700-) i would personally prefer a second solution (sat) mounted on the other side of the heli. this is what i am actually doing (ar7700 on upper back side, sat on lower front)... and never even seeing a fade. i am just preparing a Spirit 2 (my 1st one) for replacement of existing stuff in a Logo 400SE - as i really love the great level of integration with Hw & Spektrum (iX12 in my case). this one will be with spm4649t plus sat and Hw80... great test for all aspects i am interested in. Spirit 2 setup flawless so far - but not yet in the air... airfields closed... :(

but i do not like the idea of the 4649t on a big heli (i.e. Miguel Alvarez' comments on rc-groups regarding it and 700 helis)... and it's missing Rx voltage support that i am using for telemetry alarming (when on r2 buffer's juice). so 4651T would be much preferred. unfortunately it does not go with a sat in the moment, else it would be a perfect & quick replacement without even changing cabling.

6610T would need a bigger change in cabling of all my helis... and no more "full dual cable redundancy solution". so let's hope for 4651T + dsmx sat to be available in the near future :)

cheers
Michael

nb: ... and a big compliment for the Spirit 2... my blue units are going pale in terms of integration ;)

HI
I have ordered a SPM4651T just in case,to go whith the AR6610T srxl2 port.But if AR6610T rssi is ok
i can use it in another heli.
The spm4651t seems to be sold out everyware delivery in late April.

Don't be too quick with the 4651t as a sat....Tomas i have put a 6610t on my heli with a Spirit pro, and all worked well. I had 2 4651t from Christmas time as i thought they would work with dsmx sats....I have now connected the 4651t as a sat to the 6610t and there is a problem...I have 2.28.4 on the pro and updated the 6610 and 4651 to latest firmware. When the 4651t is connected to the 6610t there is a problem with binding...Using the bind button on the 6610t should make the 4651 go into bind as well, this does not happen. The telementry screen does not display the sat fades and the receiver voltage on the same screen fades in and out...The telementry signal bars go up and down as well....
With the cable from the spirit pro disconected both receivers behave as normal.....Regards Adrian

Hello Tomas and all
Just to let you know that the problems is solved, The wire from spirit should be in port 1. This does not matter if you are not using a sat(4651t), but if you are you can only have connection in either SRXL2 port (4pin) or SRXL2 port(3pin) not both. By putting spirit wire in port 1 everything works ok with or without a 4651t.... :D :D :D
