Hi all! Just got my first Spirit. A uSpirit for my Oxy 2. So far I’m liking it. I do have a question though.

Is there a way to have the Rescue-Normal function complete an entire “rescue maneuver” without me holding down my momentary switch? I would like to just tap the switch once, letting go immediately, then the heli will ascend, flip, then resume listening to my sticks.

As is, if I just tap my rescue button for a short time, the heli seems to get halfway to upright, then stops its rescue attempt because I’ve stopped sending the signal. So it can be in a side-down orientation when I let go, which is the situation I’m trying to avoid.

I don’t want rescue on a switch. Momentary button feels right.

No, this is not possible.
The problem is, that there is no-one except you that will know when the rescue is actually done. What if pilot will engage the rescue barely above ground and then the rescue maneuver is done at 2 meter altitude. Then the rescue will disengage and you will have again full control of the model. But these 2 meters will be not enough to recover the model and eventually could crash.
It is important that the behavior is predictable and not unexpected since you will never know what will happen once it is finished.
With current behavior you are the only one which is telling when the model is rescued.

Fair point, I see it. A response to your concern is that the user could adjust how long in seconds the vertical ascent is done for. But I see the reason your bringing up.

maybe you can program your TX so when you press the button
the TX keep that channel on that position for an adjustable time
( not sure what TX you have )

That’d be neat. I’ll look into it, though I have a feeling it’s not possible in my Spektrum DX9.

I replaced a 3-pos switch on my TX with a long lever momentary switch just for rescue.
