Hi Just got a Spirit system with Geolink for Christmas. I have a Mac and have problems setting it up. I'm on OSX 10.11.6. When I try to select Futaba S bus I get a message that the receiver type was changed and I need to restart the software and the unit. When I do that it goes back to PWM instead of S Bus. Whatever I do I can't get the S bus setting to stick. Any clues please?
I have upgraded to latest firmware 2.6.0

Do you save the Spirit settings before you restart the software ? And how is this related to the thread-title ?

I click ok and then the message says there is a problem with the connection and to quit or retry. Retry fails to connect. Once I restart the spirit and software it does reconnect but the settings have not changed.

Sorry the title was wrong, I’ve changed it. Initially I couldn’t connect because the firmware was out of date and the driver gave me an error. I found some info on how to fix that but I can’t see how to fix the s bus selection. I should of checked the title.

Hello,

please try to disconnect your receiver (or do not turn on your radio).
Then change the receiver and save the settings.

Once this is done turn your radio on. I hope that this will help you.

OK, I finally managed to get it to switch to S Bus by not connecting the receiver and not using the wizard. I also found the save button under the backup tab that needed to be clicked before power cycling - that just not logical being there and should be in the same window or at least save the change once it's made. However it does now stay in S Bus mode. So my next problem is that none of the servo positions show any logical movement in the diagnostics tab. Most don't move at all, with others flicking about randomly without any stick input. Elevator and Aileron are stuck at -118%. The receiver works if I connect servos to it and the S Bus appears to be fine. I've set up several microbeast systems in the past and they just work. I starting to think either the Mac software just does not work, or my unit is broken.

The servos only work when connected directly to the Futaba receiver, and I now know why. I don't have the special S-BUS adapter cable to use S-BUS. Doh !! Now ordered.
