oh, i want do this also.
I have 2x Spirit Pro. I want use the modules for airplane. The only thing i must do is to flash the 1.3 Spirit Aero Firmware??? I hope i am not destroying the modules when i flash the wrong firmware.
Maybe this software changing is something what can be more described in the manual.

Yes, you can do this anytime. If firmware flashing worked for you with helicopters then it will work too.
