This is my first post to this forum.
I have a Align Trex 450Se V2 that I am rebuilding to a FBL setup
So far I will be using the following ...

all 4 servos will be Turnigy TGY-306-HV
Motor is Scorpion HK II-2221-8
Battery is Floureon 3S 11.1V 2200MAH 25C lipo

What controller, Receiver, and satellites would be a good match up for this set up
with the regular spirit control unit ?

I would like to use a castle creations phoenix edge lite 75 brushless ESC

thanks for any recommendations !

Welcome in our forum!

For this helicopter I recommend the Spirit unit - red or black edition.

Regarding servos these will work well, but they are supposed to be swashplate servos. So at rudder the performance will be not perfect, but for the most is good.
Although the speed is very good, design does not allow a proper rudder reaction. In any way it should be noticeably better than what was originally in the kit.

For ESC CC will work well, but you can get cheaper HobbyWing V3 or V4 60A which will work even better out of the box for half the cost.

You have not mentioned what transmitter you are using. I guess it is Spektrum?

Here Is what I plan to install in the Trex 450se V2 rebuild
what servo would you recommend for the tail ?

Trex 450 rebuild FBL

Motor = Scorpion HK II-2221-8

Battery = Floureon 3S 11.1V 2200MAH 25C lipo

Controller = Spirit control unit red

Gyro =

Receiver = castle Creations phoenix edge 50 amp
2s-8s/33.6v with 5 amp BEC

Aileron servo left = Turnigy TGY-306G-HV

Pitch servo right = Turnigy TGY-306G-HV

Elevator servo = Turnigy TGY-306G-HV

Tail servo = Turnigy TGY-306G-HV

Transmitter = Spektrum DX7S

Thank you for the reply

Bobby

Forgot to add that I will be using a Huges 500d scale fuselage on this rebuild with
a 5 blade main rotor

Servo with which you will be satisfied is for example MKS DS93i or even better DS95i. But price is noticeably higher.

If you want to be sure that the internal BEC will handle the servos properly, I would recommend any HobbyWing Platinum ESC.
There were many pilots that found that CC bec is not enough. Especially HV servos can draw much more current at peaks. So you might then need to add a capacitor or external BEC.

Will the MKS DS93i or DS95i require an external BEC ?
I like the speed of the MKS DS93i and DS95i
With this new info and how fast the response time is for the
DS95i I will be using the DS95i for the tail and the DS95 for the swash

Will the DS95i and DS95 be strong enough to handle the weight of the
Huges 500D scale fuselage ?

After some research I am considering the HobbyWing Platinum pro 50A V3 ESC

Thank you for taking the time and answering my questions

Bobby

Well, in my opinion MKS DS95/95i are the best servos you can get for your 450. So it can't be basically any better.
These servos are not drawing that much and are super fast and precise. No need for external BEC. I believe that they are strong enough for fuselage too.

With hobbywing it will just work, but V3 has no telemetry. While V4 60A has telemetry (but not a current/capacity measurement).

So if I am not using the HV servos the CC should be good to go ?

Thank you for letting me know about the DS95i and DS95 servos as I
just saw a video about them on youtube and boy do they have a fast
response time !

It is very possible that CC can handle it well. MKS servos are usually not drawing too much current and are very fast, which is very good.

You are welcome.
