Have I uderstood it correctly in assuming that with 0% (50% in some radios)gyro gain That the servos work normally but the gyro does no compensating? I am wondering if a setting of no gyro gain can be used as a "fail safe" should the gyro malfunction in some way?

That is awesome! I have wondered if I could bypass the gyro entirely if need be! Will set up a no gyro flight mode.
