Thank you for the details.

It is very interesting it does not work.
Since it is working well for all other pilots as far as we know.
Here we have Jive Pro 80+ HV and together with Spektrum it is working well.
But I can't tell you what firmware is in the ESC.

The problem is that Kontronik has all protocols proprietary. So we have found how it is working ourselves. But if something differs it will break compatibility which looks like this case. But maybe it is something simple in the settings.

It seems that your RPM is multiplied by few factors.

Is the Gear Ratio and Sensing Divider still configured in the unit?

Gear Ratio 1:1.00 and Motor Poles at 2 in the Kontronik ESC is correct.

You're very welcome.

Yes the Gear Ratio and Sensing Divider are still set in the unit.

What's surprising me is that it's only displaying RPM multiples of 1000, and also the BEC voltage not reading correct.

It'd be great to hear from someone using a JIVE Pro 120+ HV like mine, and for them to check all details via a Prog Unit.

Please let me know if you have any more suggestions.

Cheers, Gary.

Also I've been researching and I've stumbled upon the following discussion:

http://www.spirit-system.com/phpBB3/vie ... 8&start=10 (Quote from this discussion is below)

Quote:
Kontronik replied to us, that they will not share any documents.
They say that the protocol is different for each device, which is really strange.
So we have to ask other parties such as JLog to get any info. But I doubt they will provide anything.

Question) Please kindly tell me if you will be testing specifically the Jive Pro 120+ HV in the future :?:

Cheers, Gary.

We hope to get this ESC, but it is uneasy to get all models from all manufacturers and test them all.
Right now we have Jive Pro 80+ HV which works very precise with no adjustments. They should work in the same way, otherwise it does not make a sense.
But as far as I know in older ESC firmware version the protocol was different for RPM.
To make it even more complicated Kontronik has few different communication protocols for each brand of radios.

The biggest issue is that for all other pilots it is working well as far as we know including Kosmik ESCs. So it is very hard to know where to look for without having exactly the same ESC with same configuration and firmware.

Thank you very much indeed for the explanation.

If I wasn't using mine right now I'd happily post it to you with the Prog Unit for you to test (Y)

Cheers, Gary.

P.S. From my photo in one of my previous posts I think the Firmware is 1.8 which is almost the very latest version.

I'll update it to the latest version 1.9 and test again.

I also have two original Jive ESCs and a Kosmik 200 which I'll test using my DX9, hopefully this week. I'll report back here to let you know the results.

Thank you very much.
For sure we will try to solve it. We will also perform additional tests in similar configuration you have posted.

I managed to have a play around with it this afternoon.

I updated the JIVE Pro firmware to the latest version 1.10 but the RPM still changes in steps of 1000 per time with nothing in-between. Also the BEC voltage still displays incorrect.

Please see photo below showing: New firmware version:

Next I connected the Spirit unit and Spektrum telemetry setup to the Kosmik in my Goblin and to my surprise the exact same issues occur, both RPM in steps of 1000 and incorrect BEC voltage.

Please see video below showing: Kosmik & DX9 telemetry in action:

If you notice the Mini VBar on the Trex 550E it's because I've put it back on for the moment. Once I reach a conclusion I'll decide which heli to put the Spirit on.

Please see photo below showing: Kosmik ESC settings (BEC is set to 8.0V):

Perhaps it's something not compatible with my DX9. If so then I haven't a clue.

I don't know of a Tx setting that rounds the RPM value to the nearest 1000, or a Tx setting that requests the display to show an incorrect BEC voltage.

Any ideas?

Cheers, Gary.

Thank you very much for the message. Yes, that is very interesting but also helpfull.
Now it looks like an issue on the side of transmitter telemetry data processing - this should be much easier to find the problem.
