I am using a Spirit controller, old DX7 transmitter and Ar7000 receiver with built in satellite. I have hooked up the receiver to the Spirit unit, and the servos to the Spirit unit. I can only seem to bind the receiver to the transmitter using Spektrums instructions, using a bind plug on the power switch cable. The receiver appears to bind properly. I cant seem to get any response from the Spirit to the transmitter stick movements. The spirit controls the servos automatically as I move the helicopter about, but the Spirit Unit doesnèt seem to respond to the receiver.

I have verified that I have bound the receiver to the transmitter by directly hooking up servos to the receiver.

Its like I havenèt hooked up the receiver to the Spirit unit correctly.

Any suggestions....

Hello,

is your Receiver type in the unit configured to PWM?
It is default option, so if your unit was unused, then it should be already configured. But I guess that it is different.

No, my spirit unit is configured to spektrum with satellite. Is that wrong?

Yes, it is wrong. It must be configured to PWM - default settings.

In the setup wizard you can see corresponding wiring scheme. So the correct one is just PWM.

I thank you for your assistance. After reconnecting, it is now working. Onwards with configuration and servo direction. I can get all the servos to move the right way, both using transmitter and spirit correction, except when I turn up the throttle, the pitch increase raises some servos and lowers one??

Good job.
When directions in the diagnostic tab are correct, you can use Servo reverses in the Spirit Settings (Servos tab).
Then you should achieve condition, when pitch movement will move with the servos correctly (up and down in the same direction).

Is there a diagnostic tab to watch for correct directions for increase in pitch?

I assume that I configure both the transmitter and the Spirit unit for 120 degree cyclic?

Yes, it is in the Spirit Settings, right when you start it (Diagnostic tab).
Direction must match with real stick movement.

In the radio the swashplate mixing must be disabled (No CCPM mix).
In the unit CCPM 120°.

Excellent. Disabled swash mix on the DX7 by selecting "Normal 1 Servo" and everything works perfectly now when I raise and lower the throttle. All servos move in synch. Thanks once again. I can't wait to get this bird in the air. It's a Hobby King 450 Pro flybar, belt drive. Flies pretty good, but I am a beginner to collective pitch, and hope to break less parts with the Spirit unit installed.
