I to have an issue after trying to flash the unit. During one of many attempts the light on the unit went out and now wont come on at all when powered up.
Recovery does not work since the light wont even flash. Have tried two computers not.
Ideas?

Yes, but some pilots do not realize that first 100ms is important. Instead all pilots are usually watching on the cables they are connecting at this time.

What is the result? Can you see LED flash during power up as described on the guide?

No flashing at all. I have powered it both with a bec and a separate battery.
I held the unit in my hand when plugging it in so I could look at the led. Nothing.

Ah, that is not good.
Are you sure the unit was flashed just with .4df file or something else, for example .bin? Is it normal Spirit unit or Spirit Pro?
What firmware version was in the unit previously?
There is possibility to use another guide which can solve the problem. But in any way this situation should not happen normally. This situation could occur if: - firmware with .bin file was flashed, which normally should not be possible - the unit was damaged due to some connection problem (for example battery in the SYS port) or Spektrum cable was used as telemetry cable.
On what computer you have did flashing? (Windows or Mac)?
Lastly there is possibility to ship it to us and we will fix it whatever the problem is. We can do it also by UPS Express carrier in both directions so it will be with us in 2 days from the USA.

I use a windows 10 computer. I had the issue of the Edge browser giving me the wrong file extension. One suggestion was to rename the file which I did.
For some reason the software was looking for a bin file. Not sure why that was?
I think I will have to send it in since I get no light from the led when powered up.

Thsnk you for the details. If you can answer all my questions, it will be more easier to help you. I will send you special guide for this case (assuming you have Spirit unit). It can fix the unit even in this condition.
If it was looking for .bin file you have probably used old software (1.X version). Renaming to .bin can get it into this condition as this software do not support .4df format, but older .bin.
Please check your private message with the guide.
