Hi,

with Spirit version 2.41 I have started to use the telemetrie with a CC Edge 80 HV on my Jeti DS-14. My observation is, that several values of the capacity are missing. That might explain the ratio from 0.77 to 1.03 in different flights between the charged an the displayed values. The other values e.g. current, voltage seem to be fine. Is that a problem of the CC Edge or from the current Spirit firmware?

Hi,

I am not sure if I understand the problem correctly.
Is the problem that you can see different values between each flight?
Or that you are loosing some data from the flight? If you are loosing some data, please check the log in your transmitter.
This can tell us when the issue occur and to which variables.

Capacity is based on the current measurement, so if there is no current value, then capacity will be calculated incorrectly.

Do you use our Telem CC cable?

Yes, I use your Telem CC cable. I am analyzing the data in the log file. The values for current (approx. 900 values) are all ok. But for the capacity only approx. 140 values are there. If you replay the flights in the Jeti tool, often no values for the capacity are shown.
Another fact is, that the ratio between charged and displayed capacity differs from 0.77 to 1.11.

If it is usefull I can send you some logfiles.

Hello,

thank you for the logs.

We have checked it and you are right that for capacity there are less values - but this is normal. It is same for the temperature.
This is because such variables have slower refresh rate, because they are not changing too much (not needed to see is that fast as for example current or voltage).
But the values are really wrong if you can see such difference between flights.

For this reason we are doing more tests between pilots.
We have updated firmware which we are testing right now.

Hello,

thanks for your analysis. I also can do some more testing if you want.

Hello,

thank you for your help!
I would like to only know, if you are using Governor from the ESC or unit?

Do you think it would be possible to change for the ESC governor?
The problem with CC telemetry is that data are going over the same cable. When governor is enabled, unit is changing signal all the time and it is then hard to find valid signal between such data.
Maybe the problem is there - in any way we will try to find a solution as soon as possible.

I can try that. But could that be the problem? As I know the capacity is derived from the current and the current seems to be fine - isn't it? Therefore it should more be an issue in calculating the capacity internally.

You are right, but in case that some data are not valid, they are skipped - in this case current value will be used from the previous valid frame. If there are more cases like this in row, then the capacity calculation is based rather only on portion of real values. This could lead to such imprecision and various ratio between charged and consumed capacity.
