So I powered up the Micro Spirit for the first time; firmware v2.4.1
Using DSMX sat that I've been using with a Spirit gyro for 2 years I was not able to enter bind mode on the mSpirit.
Bound my DX9 transmitter to satellite with it plugged into AR9020 Spektrum RX successfully. With sat back on mSpirit I now get steady light on sat and am able to set DSMX mode in Spirit Windows software; saved the setting.

Now everything appears normal in setup software but I get no movement of servos; they are set to 1520 200, and 333 rudder (recommended in Spirit servo list). I tried to re-bind through the mSpirit by putting the bind plug into the adapter cable and plugging into the P/E/A plug on the mSpirit. I don't get the flashing LED on the sat indicating it is in bind mode so I can't re-bind and the servos don't move.

Note: I used the same satellite cable to bind to the AR9020 as is used with the mSpirit.

Hello,

did you used our JST-Servo adaptor for connection of the bind plug?
Remember that JST connectors have different pin layout. So connecting first and last pin in these connectors is not correct.
Instead first and second must be connected if you do not use JST-Servo adaptor.

It is also important to set Spektrum DSM2/DSMX receiver type prior to binding.

QUOTE from first post: "I tried to re-bind through the mSpirit by putting the bind plug into the adapter cable and plugging into the P/E/A plug on the mSpirit"

Tomas my friend, PLEASE give us more than one response per day and PLEASE read what we are saying so that a whole day isn't wasted trying to get a new product working. You just launched an entirely new product that will need support. I'm the person who has the other post about Micro Spirit wiring and the un-documented change of JST pin position versus old Spirit pin position.

I'd like to get my new mSpirit working is less than a week.

George, where are you?

The Spirit guys are in Czech Republic, and they answered your post at 7 o'clock in the morning, and less than 3 hours after you posted.

I think NO OTHER COMPANY is giving such a fantastic support, so stop barking.

George, we have returned from the business trip and responding to maybe 300 questions each day.
We are working 16-17h each day including weekends for few years. I am afraid, but we are unable to work more. Sometime we have to sleep too :)

You have not specified that it was our adaptor so I am trying to write it clearly. Because I really dont know how you are skilled it is always better to write the things again.

You only have to plug a normal, unmodified bind plug into the SYS or P/E/A port through JST-Servo adapter and it should simply work.
There is only one (same) requirement to all Spirit units that the receiver type must be set to the Spektrum DSM2/DSMX.

Thank you for the fast response Tomas,

I used the adapter included with the Micro Spirit, I've set DSMX receiver type in setup.

Please review my first post. I know the sat should go into bind mode but it doesn't. I've double checked everything.

Can you try the same thing but with bind plug in the SYS port?
Do you have any other Spektrum cable just to exclude that in some cable position there is no missing contact?

Unfortunately the cables are very fragile so that it can loose connection. It was not the first time when we received original satellite cable with damaged wire yet visually there was nothing wrong. In one position there is connection in other there may be nothing.

Tomas, Thank you again for the fast response.

When I get home I will try to bind plugged into SYS port; that is a good idea. As I stated in my first post I used the same satellite cable (and same satellite) to bind to my Spektrum AR9020 receiver successfully but it won't hurt to try a different cable; I will do that too.

Tomas,

I moved the bind plug to the SYS connector as you wisely suggested and immediately got the blinking bind light on the sat when power was applied. Successfully bound to DSM2 mode and servos respond normally. Moved the bind plug back to P/E/A connector and successfully bound to DSMX; servos respond normally.

Thank you very much for the help. I don't understand why it didn't work the first time with DSMX? When I bound the satellite to the transmitter (DSMX) using the Spektrum receiver I thought that was the normal fix for these kind of problems.

Regards,
George

Great news!
For the first time if unit was not bound yet, it will not allow to operate for safety reason because the Failsafe is not configured in the unit.

Maybe there were some other cables attached in the unit which was reason why it was not possible to bind it for the first time.
I am glad that it works now.
