Hi,

Received new Micro Spirit fast! Thank You! It looks great!

Although not stated in the manual I assume the connector pin pattern is the same as original Spirit gyro; signal pin closest to label then red positive pin; then black (brown) ground pin nearest the edge (for servo connections).

In the box are 2 adapter cables. One adapter terminates with a Futaba male set of pins that I assume is to adapt the USB system cable for connecting to a computer. However; the red and black (brown) wire positions are switched so instead of white-red-black the JST plug that connects to the Micro Spirit is white-black-red. I assume this has to be a mistake as it changes the connections for the USB to SYS connector from previous Spirit pattern.

The other adapter cable also has the pin positions switched the same way. It terminates in a Futaba female socket connector (just like the one on the end of a servo cable or a ESC/BEC). I can't figure out what a person would use that for.

A clarification on the wiring please. I have my own tools and supplies to terminate cables with my own JST connectors so I just need to be sure of the Micro Spirit pin positions.

Thank You

It looks like that other cable is for Pitch, Elevator, Aileron. Which looking at the wiring diagram is different from other Spirits. But we do need clarification from Tomas on the USB cable and the Servo cable polarity connections.

You make a good observation. The Aileron-Pitch-Elevator signal pins on the original Spirit have been changed around on the Micro Spirit to Aileron-Elevator-Pitch which might explain the 2 adapter cables included with the mSpirit having the red and black wires reversed.

We don't know if the SYS pins have been switched too. And what about a binding plug??? Do we switch those wires too? If you plug the binding plug into the male adapter cable it would do that.

The adapter with the female Futaba connector is still a mystery to me though. What device would you plug it into?

I'll need some documentation before I connect any power to the mSpirit.

Hello,

pins in the uSpirit are different because it has the JST connectors. So it is NOT compatible with servo connectors.

This mean that the closest pin is signal, middle pin is ground and the last pin is bec voltage.
On the other hand, if you will use our JST-Servo or JST-Rx adapters, the pins (at the servo connector side) will be compatible with a bigger Spirit units - adaptors are swapping the power pins.

So the layout is standard for a JST servos and also for the Spektrum satellites.

So be very carefull if you are using other than our adaptors.

So the 2nd and 3rd pin position of the SYS connector is reversed as well?

I'm not using adapters so on the connector for the WiFi link I would switch the black and red connectors on the power lead and move the red wire from the 2nd position to the 3rd position on the signal lead; correct?

Yes, but basically all connectors (including SYS) are reversed so that 2nd and 3rd are swapped, while 1st (signal) is without a change.
So if you do not use our adaptors for normal servo connector, then you have to swap brown and red wires everywhere.
With our adapters (JST-RX/JST-Servo) no changes are needed anywhere so that it is fully compatible with any peripheral.
