I have connected the openTx integration cable as per the instructions between an X6R (PWM) receiver and the Spirit SYS port, when power is applied to the helicopter the Spirit initializes ok with the swash plate jumping to confirm that.

However when i move the Tx sticks (Taranis X9E) nothing happens, if i pick up the heli and move it around then the swash/tail compensates correctly so the Spirit unit hasn't frozen.

Executing either the Basic.lua or the special.lua script populates the screens with the Spirits programmed settings so that is working ok.

If i remove the OpenTx integration cable then the helicopter initializes ok and responds to stick inputs.

I thought that it might be a problem with my wiring which is a dual power supply fed from a single battery into the X6R via the smart port and SBUS sockets and is then fed to the Spirit unit via the AUX/RUD inputs. I have tried disconnecting each power supply in turn but that makes no difference, i have also disconnected both the supplies to the X6R and connected a totally independant battery supply to the X6R eliminating the wiring associated with the original supplies.... no difference .... so i'm not convinced that this is a wiring issue.

I have exactly the same problem with my TDR which uses an X8R which is fed via a dual supply from a Kontronic Heli Jive esc, the helicopter initializes but will not respond to any Tx inputs whenever the OpenTx integration cable is fitted.

I have also just fitted an integration cable to my LOGO 550SX which uses an X4R SB receiver and everything is working fine.

Please can somebody confirm that they have the integration cable working ok with their PWM configured X6/8R and maybe point out the obvious to me :? .

Many thanks...

Hi,

can you please take a photo of how it is all connected? Especially the Dual BEC.
It is necessary that both unit and receiver is powered by the same power supply.

Also I am not sure if you are using PWM connection or S-Bus. With S-Bus connection should be very easy.

I use the X8R on my E700 with S-Bus. Double power on Spirit. X8R is powered by the S-Bus cable. Everything works fine with openTX integration.
I'm using S-Bus protocol.

Can you please take a photo? It could help with investigating what can be wrong.
Normally it should just work all together.

I guess that some cable could be in the opposite direciton. So it might work by a strange coincidence.

Just to simplify things please could we just concentrate on the T-Rex 700 for now, so just to clarify :-

The X6R is configured as a PWM receiver and is fed from the powerbox switch (two o/p leads) into both the Smart port and the SBUS port.

The powerbox switch is fed from a single 2000mAh 6.6V Life pack.

Please refer to the wiring diagram as the helicopter has been used in this configuration for probably two years now along with a BT adapter with no problems.

Unfortunately i don't have an SBUS invertor cable to try.

Henseleit TDR

Exactly the same problem with my Henseleit TDR which is wired pretty much the same as above but instead uses a Heli Jive ESC which has two outputs (one for the powered throttle cable and the second as a pure power supply cable) connected to an X8R receiver configured as PWM.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOGO 550SX

Have a LOGO 550SX which is using an X4R SB receiver in SBUS mode and everything is working nicely.

Thanks.

Master throttle/power supply from the Heli Jive ESC is fed to channel 1 on the X8R.

Slave power supply from the Heli Jive ESC is fed to channel 8 on the X8R.

Power then supplied to the Spirit via the RUD and AUX cables.

Thank you!

Now it is much more clear.

At the photo DSC_0253.JPG I can see PWM connection, but in receiver, S.Port I can see just two wires.
So the integration can't work in this way - there you have to connect cable for the OpenTX integration where all 3 wires are connected.

Can you disconnect bluetooth module and put there the integration cable between unit and RX?

Also please note, that you can't use BT module connected to the SYS and at the same time integration cable. Both are unfortunately working on a different speeds and different protocols.

Hi

Just to make you aware that photo DSC_0253.JPG was taken without the integration cable fitted and this is how i have been using the helicopter in normal operation.

When testing with the integration cable fitted i was only powering the receiver from a single power supply via the SBUS port.... the blue/red power cable fitted to the SMART port was left dangling in mid air.

Just to confirm that other then using the SMART port of the X6R as a power supply input you are happy with the way i have wired things on the TRex 700 ?.

Moving onto the Henseleit TDR i connected the power supplies into channel 1 and channel 8 of the X8R receiver and with the integration cable fitted it will initialize but will not respond to stick movements...... the integration cable is working fine... really odd as i have connected the Spirit units as per the instructions.

I can't see a way around this problem as i can't see anything wrong with my installation other than converting both receivers from PWM to a SBUS configuation ??.

Thanks..

edit...

Just seen your last post, the BT module was powered up but it's SYS connector was unplugged in order that i could plug the integration cable into the SYS socket..... i'm assuming that having the BT module connected only via its power lead would not have any bad effects ??.

My setup with X6R and Pro on S.Bus just works great, also LUA works.
Why are you having all these cables in X6R, I just got S-Bus for RX signal to Spirit with configured S-Bus and the S.Port connected to the SYS Port with integration Cable. There is a short and long side of the integration cable. Long goes to Spirit SYS Port.

Can you read out RPM on Telemetry?
Once setup and checked with diagnostics, learning the Telemetry Sensors and it works great.
I would also recommend double power from ESC/BEC sourced direct to Spirit as power is needed there (it' your center) for Servos. Power X6R only from Spirit via S.Bus and S.Port to avoid any Ground loops.
