The second option is new to the last firmware/software.

ryguy76, sorry, I thought you knew about the possibility of activating Rescue with a dedicated channel, so I mentioned it but not stressed enough probably... this feature makes everything so much easier (if you do happen to have a free channel)

For some reason, likely because I was overwhelmed with many things in the Jeti and being late at night, the "dedicate a channel" part didn't click for me so I glossed over the FW/SW part. Re-reading it now, it's as plain as day what you were saying, knowing what I know now.

Anyway, it all makes lots of sense now and I spent a few hours with my Jeti tonight and really got to understand the programming of it. I've updated the SW/FW on the Spirit and will look to get the Jeti working with the Spirit tomorrow now that I've wrapped my head around the programming and have it ready to go in-radio.

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I switched the X3 over to Jeti today and all in all, it went well. EX-Bus integration was a breeze and I think it's working as expected. Only issue that presented itself, (and it may not be an issue at all, but still struck me as odd), was that while connected to PC and Spirit software, the output of the Jeti was relatively bang on for all channels except the Gyro channel. I had programmed it to output -100, 0, +100 on the FM switch. I was getting -87, 0 & +87 in the Diagnostic tab. I adjusted the Max Positive and Max Negative values (not Max Limit) in the Servo Setup menu so that I got -100 & +100 in the Spirit software. They are set at 115 & -114 in the Servo Setup menu now. Is that odd?

I should just ignore each channels actual "monitor values" in the Jeti radio and just go by what the Spirit Diagnostic tab displays, right? Just find it weird that the Gyro had to be adjusted so much, unless something was purposefully setup on the spiri.jsn file that I used.

Hi,

if the issue is just on the Gyro Gain channel, then it is OK. You can use travel adjust, but it is definitively not a problem. It will fly well in both cases.
The most important is what you can see in the Diagnostic tab. In your transmitter there can be whatever :)

So it should be OK in the way you have did it.

The weather is not ideal here, windy and raining, so haven't got to fly on the Jeti platform yet but was able to get out front and hover in my yard. Seemed pretty good. Only issue was a gyro gain induced tail wag, but I landed and realized I must have set the gyro gains with the TH (Hold FM) switch enabled so each 3 FM gyro settings were applied to the Hold mode and not individually to Normal, IU1 & IU2, being that Hold FM mode takes priority. Made the changes without the TH switch on and the next hover was as expected.

Before I go out flying, I have 3 questions I'm hoping to have answered.

1. RPM readout on the Jeti screen continually fluctuates quickly around a specific range. Is this normal behaviour or should it stay locked on a number?

2. With the Hold mode set to have 12% Throttle Curve for Auto Bailout, and the Governor Throttle Range Min value dropped down until the motor doesn't spool with TH engaged (As described in the optional Autorotation Bailout setup in Spirit manual), is there any downside that I need to be aware of with this setup? I have created a Throttle Cut switch too, so I no longer get instant spool up after an auto bailout if I've flipped the Throttle Cut switch. It returns to soft start.

3. Failsafe. Is the Jeti Rx failsafe setup required on top of the Spirit Failsafe programming within the software?

Thanks!
