Just tested, works fine: assigned Aux3 to the Knob in "Switch select", setted up RTT for Flight style, and saw values changing in the Android when rotating the knob.

Thanks. So either my DX8 is broken or the real Spektrum DSMX sat's will solve the issue. Time to "harvest" some stuff from other models.

Coco is correct DSM2 Sats used as stand alone without a receiver are only 22 ms and limited to 7 channels. I'm using the Lemon DSMX Sats stand alone on a Mini Brain 2 and yes it supports 8 channels. For the extra $2 buy the Lemon DSMX Sats with the true diversity antennas

Lost, that is what is weird. I'm running Lemon DSMX sats on my 450 and I don't get channel 8. My next step is to try using a Real Spektrum sat, but apparently I don't have one to install after looking.
In the mean time I decided to disable Banks and use Aux2 to select flight style which seems to be acting as expected.
When you say 22 ms on the DSM2 sats, does that have something to do with this? I know on the DX8 there is a place where you can set the 22 or 11 ms mode. I wonder if I have 22 set in the radio even though the Sats are DSMX.

DSMX can support both 22 and 11ms frame rate. If your using 11ms frame rate its recommended your use digital servos. The Lemon DSMX Sats work just fine for me on a DX9. To me it sounds like a radio or setup issue do you have an 8 channel receiver you could try ?

Frame rate was set to 22 in the dx8. Changed it. Then tested and no good.
The radio does move a servo in the aux3 position in a receiver. So it seems like the TX is not broken.
Finding a true factory sat dsmx is the last test.
Going to use aux2 for the time being and not for bank switching.

SUCCESS!
Installed a Spektrum branded SAT and rebound the unit and Channel 8 worked perfectly.
As happy as I am with Lemon rx products, the dsmx satellites do not work with the DX8 it appears for RTT.
Thanks to all that made suggestions.

Glad your original Spektrum worked. I suggest you contact Lemon Rx and explain the situation see what they have to say about it. Maybe it's actually a DSM2 and not a DSMX Sat. ? How old is it ? Did you buy it directly from them ? Like I posted earlier running them on Mini Brain 2 no problem getting 8 channels.

Great! Thank you for the message!
We have also tested the DX8 and Spektrum satellite and it worked well.
Did you tried to bind the satellite in both 11/22ms modes?

Thanks again to all the posters.
I re-bound the Lemon DSMX satellites and the problem vanished.
I then re-bound some old DSM2 Spektrum satellites on a Pro unit, and RTT channels worked perfectly.
