Hello

My setup
Chase 360
HW 50A v3
Spirit pro
Xnova 2618-1860
18T pinon
Servoking ds995 cyclic 795hv rudder
Spirit governor 3100 HS on 100% throttle but i fly mostly a 2900

Ive been trying to get rid of a tailkick of about 20 degrees when doing pitchups/tic tocs etc on this bird but being my first heli and fbl im dont have much experience.

Ive had to add a lot of revomix 6 and up my piro comp to 180 and above for it to be reasonably good but it dont seem right to me. Ive tried to put the gov response and hold performance down to 1 etc but i still havent seen any difference. My rudder gain is on 24% and i get some slight wag there at times.

Any help or settings for this is much appreciated.

Thank you

Hello,

first from all you should set the Gyro Gain as high as possible. Usually it is around 60-70%.
Also Revomix should be not needed on the most helicopters, and if it is really needed, than value of 3 is usually the highest. Because it looks like it does not hold well even with the Revomix, very likely there is some problem in the tail mechanics.
When KDS helis are new, ball linkages are quite stiff. So the target is to make it so smooth that it is moving nearly on its own.

But at the beginning I can review your settings. Can you please upload it here? (4ds file).

Thank you!

Hello

Thank you for the quick reply. There's a lot of mechanical gain on the Chase 360 so anything over 30% will cause tail wag, i still get it in high speed funnels at 24. everyone i ask says it needs very low gain too.

I added the file for you.

i should note that with default governor settings the issue was the same, i havent really tried to increase them though

Also the Current rudder endpoints are left limit 65, right 105

Hello,

I am sorry for late response.

What I recommend is to try to put a shorter servo arm on the tail servo. Then you can increase Gyro Gain little bit.
This could solve the problem.

You can also increase Rudder Dynamic to a default value (6) - 3 could be quite small, but this has no impact on your issue.
I do not recommend to set Pirouette Consistency more than 175 there.
And also I do not recommend Revomix higher than 3, it should just work completely with use of revomix.

You can perform a simple test:
1. unplug push rod from the tail servo arm.
2. dismount all blades
3. start the motor to a flying RPM
4. move with the push rod carefully and check how smooth it is working when motor is running.

If it will work just with a high force, then this could be reason, why the servo is unable to correct it fast enough. Direction closer to the boom is usually more important, since tail slider is moving there.
In this way you can verify how the mechanics is working.

I'm having a similar problem but not nearly as bad on my trex 470 dominator.

I had to move the ball out on the rear arm as I was getting in the 200's for travel. After moving out the ball they are around 140-150.
Next I increased the tail gain for good stops (around 68 on gain)

On hard punch outs or pitch pumps the tail was moving about 15 degrees. I then slowly increased piro consistency all the way up to 190 which is higher then any other heli I own. It is mostly cured but I'm still still blowing out about 3 to 5 degrees on hard pitch pumps. (if I'm smoother on collective I can eliminate it)

Do I continue going up on piro consistency or back it down a bit and try to increase rudder gain first, then try adding in piro consistency again?

Almost forgot. I set about 4% pitch in the tail blades. Basically, I fly it up and then switch to non heading hold mode and the tail stays in line. Works out to about 4% pitch.

Djg24: I recommend to make the tail servo arm even longer. It looks like the limits are still too high (too wide resulution).

OK, just wanted to stop back and say it worked perfectly.

Moved the ball out on the servo arm. Came up with new travel endpoints in the 95-105 range.
Redid the gain and piro and came up with 64 on gain and piro consistency of 175. Tail holds rock solid. No blow out even if I just push full collective quickly. Couldn't be happier with the way it flies, it seems perfect!

Looking over the numbers, these seem closer to what my other helis have as well. Thanks for all the help.
