Hi there,

I'm just getting round to my first heli with a spirit and Jeti.

I have had a bit of a rest from rc over the last 12 months or so due to medical problems and life getting in the way. Most of the settings I had in mind are not relevant due to software upgrades and fixes on both Jeti and spirit. I'm therefore not sure what settings to put into either unit for reliable operation.

I have a rex6 exbus selected on ex1, rx output period ? I'm unsure whether this should now be set to either 10ms or just auto or whether this is only applicable to non exbus settings.

Tx setting set to 100hz, servos set correctly and working apart from throttle the output is set in spirit and appears to come out on aux port on spirit?

Any pointers or help would be appreciated

Thanks

I am using it 10ms, with 100hz on the tx, 50 flights approx. with this setup, no issues, works flawlessly.

You can use default settings, it will work well.

Regarding connection, you have to use special Jeti cable - see this thread:

Thanks for the tips lads, I'm up and running and the cable works and I've run through the setup wizard.

The only problem I have now is the throttle and failsafe.

The throttle doesn't seem to work with my mezon esc, it won't initialise, am I right in thinking the throttle signal outputs on the aux channel? I have plugged in a servo and it seems to respond to the throttle curve. However the mezon doesn't initialise I have plugged the mezon into the throttle channel on the Rex 6 and the esc initialised ok and ran.

The failsafe however doesn't seem to work on the throttle channel through the spirit, so in this type of exbus setup do you have to separate the throttle and run it off the receiver or can you use the aux output on the spirit and set it via the software.

Thanks

Hey,

i once had an Master Mezon in combination with a Spirit too. The problem is, that the init values are not exactly the same when using the aux channel.
You need to specifiy other Init Parameters in the Master Mezon. Sadly, the Mezon is not able to learn the Init values. I sold the esc, so i can't give you the correct values.

Try playing a bit with the Init Start parameter.

best regards,
Chris

To solve the problem with Failsafe, please update the firmware and file Spirit.bin for Jeti transmitter, so that it is the latest 2.0.2.
To use failsafe from the unit, disable Failsafe in the receiver. Then everything will be OK.

In regards to the problem with throttle, you have to just set correct throttle range in the unit.
It looks like it is not in good range so ESC is ignoring it.
I recommend to start with 1000us.

So you have to just set General/Throttle -> Throttle Range Min. 1000us, Max. 2000us for the beginning.
With these values it might be good to start.

Then by increasing Min. value you can find when the motor will start to spin. Then decrease it by approx. 30us and you have found the correct Min. value.
