I just upgraded to the Spirit Pro, I went to bind the two DSMX H207X satellites that I was using on my Spirit and could not get them to enter binding mode. After trying every combination on all the forums, I tried a DSMX H405B satellite from another plane and it binds no problem.

So Horizon Hobbys says that the white sticker on the bottom is an FCC number, and they don't know what the difference is. Both of the satellites say they are model number 9645. Has anyone else had problems getting DSMX satellites to bind?

Well i got it to bind. I had to plug a H207X satellite into my AR8000 then bind the receiver and the H207X to my TREX 600 model in my transmitter. I then plugged the H207X in the alternate satellite port on the Spirit and plugged the H405B into the primary satellite port. I then put the bind plug into the spirit, only the H405B was blinking after I power on, the H207X light was steady. After I bound the H405B, both the H207X and H405B satellites had steady lights and all servos worked. Then I noticed the H207X light goes out about every 30 seconds. I unplugged the H405B and about every 30 seconds the servos go into fail safe. Plugged the H405B in and unplugged the H207X and it works fine.

Thank you very much for letting us know.
We will try to get satellites with X letter. They are definitively different.
I believe that we can find solution for this issue.

We have identified the problem and now it should work as supposed.

Please download this firmware:
http://spirit-system.com/dl/fw/spirit-fw-1.3.3.4df

You do not have to change anything.

Thank you for the quick reply and getting the new software out there so fast!

But unfortunately its still not binding. I flashed it, also tried Ctr B flash, and switching between S-Bus and DSM2/DSMX, just things I saw on the forums. I put a H405B in there and it goes into bind, I also put a DSM2 and switched the bind plug to Sys and it goes into bind mode. I would be happy to ship one of my H207X's to you for trouble shooting.

So I did some testing this weekend. I put the H207X's on my Spirit (Original not Pro) and they went into bind mode. So its not a 1.3.2 firmware problem, it has something to do with the Spirit Pro.

However I then went to swap out the H207X with a another DSMX Sat (The white sticker is gone) on a Trex 150, it would not bind. When installing the sat on a 150, you have to take the case off. Well the circuit board looked completely different. I got the H207X's off ebay and I'm starting to think they might be knock offs. But there's no way to know for sure.

We have tested satellites (X version) and they are working with 1.3.2.
The problem that can happen is, that some components are behaving little bit differently.
And this is reason, why with some units and satellites it was not possible to bind.

With firmware 1.3.3 it was definitively fixed. Did you tried it at least few times with 1.3.3? Please redownload the firmware to be sure that it is really latest version and correct.
What is your transmitter?

Hello,

I have a similar problem, on my 450 heli I have the original spirit. There binding of my satellites, the DSMX version of the lemonrx and diversity lemonrx is successful.
In the channels menu and in the Diagnostics tab the channel movement of my Transmitter (Devo 10 with deviation Firmware) are shown.

On the Spirit Pro The behavior is the following while binding on the secondary Spektrum port:
- LiPo disconnected, Transmitter, off Bind Plug inserted
- connect LiPo
- satellite starts blinking fast
- turn transmitter on (no change on satellite)
- choose binding on transmitter (LED of satellite goes off)
- after a few seconds LED of satellite blinks slowly
- after another few seconds LED of satellite stays ready
- disconnect Bind Plug
- disconnect LiPo
- turn transmitter off

--- now the satellite should be bound

- turn transmitter on
- connect LiPo
- satellite LED steady
- but in the Spirit Software there are no changes of the channels in the channels Menu neither in the Diagnostics tab
##########################
On the primary satellite Port the behavior is as following:
- LiPo disconnected Transmitter off Bind Plug inserted
- connect LiPo
- satellite LED is off (it should be fast blinking)
- turn transmitter on
- satellite LED goes on (there should be no change (fast blinking))
- choose binding on transmitter (LED of satellite goes off)
- after a few seconds LED of satellite goes on (should be blinking slowly)
- disconnect Bind Plug
- disconnect LiPo
- turn transmitter off

--- now the satellite should be bound or not?

- turn transmitter on
- connect LiPo
- satellite LED steady
- but in the Spirit Software there are no changes of the channels in the channels Menu neither in the Diagnostics tab

If I bind the satellites on the Spirit of the 450 helicopter there are no changes in the channels Menu and Diagnostics tab either.

Both tested with Firmware Version 1.3.2 after failing and searching tested with 1.3.3 afterwards and no change in the behavior.

I talk about these two little satellites:
lemonrx DSMX with diversity:
http://www.lemon-rx.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=72&product_id=135
lemonrx DSMX only:
http://www.lemon-rx.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=72&product_id=109

I hope you understand my English and that I made clear what problem I have.

If you are using satellites you have to always connect Primary satelite. If it is not present, it will not work at all even if the satellite is bound.
This is protection that can tell you if secondary satellite has wrong cable. So you can bind and use one or two satellites, but primary must be always present.
