Some helicopters are tilted on the ground, but in the flight it does not matter.
You can use simple method for settings up zero pitch - fold blades together so both ends will nearly touch each other.
If your pitch is zero, both ends will be at the same level (even when you rotate the head 360°).
Both push rods should be of same length.

Ok so last night I did all but the zero pitch thing. Hooked it up today and the servo tuning was off on one of the servos. I re-centered that one and unlocked the tuning box, then did the zero pitch. Unplugged everything then hooked it back up and one of the servos was off center again. Way off. What gives?

In this case the settings was not probably saved so you will have to set it unfortunately again.
You have to save the settings by clicking the Save button in the Backup tab (or CTRL+S).

Alternatively the servo has wrong centering so the center can be each time different. But this issue could mean that servo must be replaced or repaired. But I believe that it is the first option.

Do you use smartphone for the setup or PC software?

I am using the pc software. And I was under the impression that moving the servo horn wouldn't affect the settings so I didn't bother saving it. Will save it next time I do it. Thanks again

Also, I noticed that I had a ton more negative pitch than positive pitch. How is this adjusted? In the transmitter or in the spirit settings?

Servo tuning is used to get the horns at 90 degrees (it is needed to overcome the obvious mechanical imprecision).

The rest (level swash and 0 deg pitch) has to be done mechanically, by adjusting the linkages length, WHILE THE SERVO TUNING IS STILL TICKED.

This probably means that the servo is not at the correct height when at zero pitch. Check the heli manual.

So I've discovered that one of the servo horns is stripped which was causing my settings to be outta whack. New horns on order.
