Using my dx8 im adjusting the pitch channel to get 100 & -100 and 0 at midstick. Question is do I just need to put my stick where it lines up w the little white mark showing center or look at the monitor screen and make sure it reads 0 then then get the software to show 0 at the same spot?

Use 0 on the monitor screen. The white marks on the gimbal are not that accurate. But you should also do a calibration of the gimbals if you have not done that. The calibration from factory are not always done very accurately. When doing the calibration you can ensure the with marks line up good.

Ok but when I do that and use subtrim to adjust it to get the pitch channel in the fbl system to read 0 it moves my tx monitor pitch channel to -3. Then I have to 're adjust my endpoints to get them to be 100 on both sides.

Yes, you have to adjust the TX to the FBL-gyro.

Ok so once I put my stick at zero on the monitor screen and subtrim it to show 0 on the fbl system I shouldn't worry about what the monitor screen shows as 0 anymore? Then once it reads 0 in the fbl system (at this point it shows -3 on the monitor screen in my tx) I adjust my endpoints to show their 100 & -100? So once both those things are done I shouldn't worry about what my transmitters monitor screen shows as midstick or its endpoints correct?

Ive set up other gyros before but they were the vbar and a ar7200bx which the spirit seems to be a bit of both of these systems mixed together. So I understand what needs to be done and how to do it but im having issues w the total rescue pitch thats showing when activated isnt showing what I set my collective pitch was set at so im trying to find the reason why.

Yes. Use subtrim to hit 0 on the Spirits diagnostic screen. But you should have about the same deviation on both positive and negative endpoints in the TX, to hit -100 and +100 on the Spirit diagnostic screen.

Yah the transmitters endpoints are within 2 or 3 of eachother at time of setup. But isnt it ok the use the endpoints to even up unequal collective?

Probably. Some heads have a geometry that won't allow equal pitch for both positive and negative. I used to set them up so the one with less pitch is where I want it, and use pitch curve on the TX to lower the one with more pitch. But that is on an other FBL system. On the Spirit you should probably use "Servo Travel Correction" to correct for this behavior as you can make corrections for both directions.

One thing I've learned over the years is not to be TOO picky about setups. It will only make your hair grow gray way too early. A flying buddy of mine flew for several weeks with one of the ball links on the servo arm one hole closer to center on a cyclic servo, than the other the two other cyclic servos. He wasn't aware of it until someone else was looking at he heli and pointed it out to him. That's how good FBL gyros are to correct for imperfections.
