I have tried governor response at 3 previously but not as low as 1 and I am no longer down the flying field to try it.
Set to 3 or values higher make no difference though with the rpm going straight up to just short of the maximum set in the software (max 2000 actual 1970) when 1850 is being requested.

Hovering pitch seems to be about 6 degrees.

Hi, I use a DX9 so I have both throttle hold and throttle cut. Normal throttle curve is 0, 25, 50, 50, 50. This makes sure the governor will engage. Then I use throttle hold for start and idle at 4 / 5%. Throttle cut will take it back to 0, if needed.

In a follow up to this statement and before I change my servo linkage all around I'd like to confirm this. I have a Jeti radio and in the diagnose tab I have zero to 100 with the throttle stick. Full throttle equals the Max rpm I set in the governor. One of the ways the Jeti works is to activate throttle cut and throttle idle. I can set both TC or TI to either positive or negative numbers. At the moment they are both negative.
When I have throttle stick to the lowest position I see 0 in the diagnose tab, when I turn on throttle idle (which I use as a choke position) I see -7% on the diagnose tab in the throttle. When I switch that to throttle cut I see -19% on the throttle in the diagnose tab.
The quote from above indicates that the gov won't engage correctly if the system doesn't see 0% on power up. On the Jeti, when I power up I might have any one of three throttle positions on system power up. 0%, 0r -7%, or -19%. The question is does this matter?

If I change this around, the Jeti is still going to power up with three potential positions. It depends on where the switches are when powering up the transmitter.

I can start the engine at low stick / 0 position but not with the throttle trim at the mid / 0 position.
I have changed the throttle linkage to now give full throttle shut down at Low stick with this trim lever position.
I have to raise the trim up quite a few % from mid position to start the engine.

Malc1,
You had a condition where the throttle was going to 100% with engine running the governor was on (even if the rpm called for in the flight mode was not 100%). When you changed the servo linkage/throttle stick position to zero at low stick position, did the 100% throttle when running problem change or get better or get fixed?

Not fixed and no different even though have tried virtually everything.

Yes, engine runs right up to and beyond the maximum setting in the software even though the sensor is reading OK

As far as I can see all is exactally the same from when I did the first test flight.

I have not yet tried the Governor response as low as 1.
That is the next thing that I have been advised to try but won't be able to get down the field until the weekend after this one coming.

Somehow I can't see it working but who can tell :(

Malc1: We are working on the new version that should be more carefull when reaching requested RPM (if the problem is there).
Some motors have not that fast response as expected, so I guess that it might be better.

Scott H: It does not matter at all. I guess that your idle RPM is somewhere around 10%. Are you are engaging governor from this or similar TC? Governor is engaged when there is transition above 40%.

Well I just flew, at the field now. A ratio of ,,7.13 doesn't yield the results I expected and show the throttle rpm as read on the Jeti. I changed to and tried various setting and am on 1:1 now. it is reading closer to what sounds like the right rpm and closer to what I think the rpm should be. However to get the rpm at the correct speed I'm under 40% throttle. Will play with it some more, but it isn't working as straight forward as I had hoped.
As I mentioned the magnet is on the main gear so one rpm should equal one revolution.

I guess the next test will be to up the throttle curve to over 40% and see what happens

The OS 105 sized engine that I am trying to set up is very responsive.
It does not take long to get up to maximum RPM.

Problem here is that while testing this with the RPM not being limited, with the governor on,some damage may occur.
As mentioned previously I have seen head speeds over 2100rpm - not good really.

I also noticed that it seemed with a regular normal mode curve with the governor on it is quite difficult to engine RPM's up.A lot of an increase in the curve for not a lot of head speed change.
I did switch the governor off and set up a steady curve which was not the same.

You have suggested trying the response at 1 and I will try this next time out.

I increased the throttle curve to a flat 43% in idle up 1 and 50% in idle up 2. My rpm numbers as read on the transmitter range from 1750 to 2000 rpms which I know isn't right.

I don't really have a good idea what to try. If there was a way to diagnose what's going on I'd take suggestions.

Would this statement be correct? Since I'm getting rpm readouts on the Jeti, that means the governor is engaging.
or
Am I getting rpm readouts only because the throttle stick is going over 40%?

Malc1: If your magnets are on the main gear, then Gear Ratio must be 1.

Scott H: If RPM readout is incorrent, but stable, then your Gear Ratio or Sensor Divider must be wrong.
Yes, you are right. RPM is displayed right when Governor is engaged (above 40% TC).
