I am down the flying field at the moment after just carrying out the maiden test flight with the Spirit System.

Not really gone too well and after 3/4 tank of fuel I have given up and moved onto something else.

I am in Normal mode only with a very very low throttle curve just to get the helicopter airborne to check the basics.

The engine gets up to take off speed, you hover for a few seconds and then the engine revs increase on their own to what seems to be full throttle.
Bearing in mind that the throttle curve is set so full throttle or a major increase should not be possible.
Impossible to fly so any ideas?

It seems that RPM reading is not working well - maybe at all.

If it start to increase it thinks that RPM is still too low (or zero). Could you test if you can see valid RPM reading in the software?

What's the best way to do this?
This is a 105 sized Nitro machine.

Is this blades off and a blue tooth setup?

Can I not just run on a curve only in Normal mode or does the governor always need to be on?

Will there be anything in the flight log to help?

If you want to run a throttle curve and no governor... make sure the governor is turned off...

What's your setup? Receiver? Maybe also upload here your Spirit settings.

I would, if possible like the governor off in normal mode but on in ID1 and ID2.

Setup is with a Jeti DS16 and Rsat2 receiver and a backplate sensor powered via a adaptor cable plugged in to the sat port and centre 'pitch' pin.

I will try to see if the RPM's are being read first if I can sort my spare laptop out and get close enough to plug the cable it to run the software.

You can see current RPM directly in your transmitter if you are using EX Bus connection.
This is the best way for you.

On the DS16 there is no RPM data at all being displayed.
Engine speed was increased from idle.

Across the adaptor there is as expected 3.3v and with the sensor connected 2.2v (actually taken on the solder terminals on the sensor)

Is this right?

Anything else I can test for?

Just a thought here but do the Spektrum Backplate sensors need more than 3.3v to make them work?
Also is the plug wired in the standard way?

Just trying to get an idea as to why this does not work.

2.2V is very wrong and most probably it is wired incorrectly if it was measured well.
Sensor has probably reversed polarity.

Red should be in the left and brown in the middle.
