Just some clarification, these settings have been giving me fits - still trying to wrap my head around them. I see Jeti recommends 20ms fixed for PPM out, UDI seems to recommend 17ms or Auto etc. How about EX-Bus? I've read that running EX-Bus to spirit means one can run a true 10ms frame rate/output period. Should I set 10ms in the REX6 via device explorer? Sounds as though other are having luck setting "Auto" and others 11ms. What do the developers run/recommend when running my setup? Also, I assume PPM/UDI computed vs direct has nothing to do with it when running EX-Bus, correct?

Thanks!

You can configure even 5ms with some protocols.
UDI and EX-Bus will work fine with it.

Auto will configure most probably 17ms which is the default.

It is also possible to achieve high frame rates with other protocols. Basically you can get 100Hz with all at 10ms period.

Thanks, Jeti recommends 20ms when running PPM, but could never pin down the best settings with UDI or Ex-bus. So what IS everyone running? You mention 5ms? Some say 11ms or auto, others run the default 17. Still terribly confused ha!

If you do not fly extreme hard 3D, you can use Auto options in all cases.

But generally with Spirit you can use any value, it will just work.

It does not depend on what your servos are, it is only input for the unit (steering commands).
For example Spektrum transmitters are running at 22ms and 11ms. If you are not very experienced pilot, you will not notice any difference.

So, if I want to take full advantage of the 100Hz transmit frequency of my Jeti DS-16, my output period needs to be at 10ms, right?

Correct me if I am getting this wrong please, I'm coming at this from networking reference point.

100Hz transmit frequency = 1 frame or packet of control data sent from transmitter every 10ms to the Jeti receiver.
If the output period is 11ms for example, what happens? Forcing an output slower than the input stream necessitates packet overhead. I am assuming that there a cache buffer that satisfies the difference between input / output rates. Is the output really held at a consistent 11ms then even with the overhead? Steady stream of data with no packet loss or repeats?

Seems a lot more efficient to set the output period to match exactly or slightly less than the 100Hz transmit frequency.

Is this an accurate understanding?

From Jeti developer:
In case of EX Bus data are transmitted synchronously so period from receiver settings does not matter.
If it is configured for 100Hz, then it will send the data at this rate.
This mean, period is configured by transmitter only.

So the only thing you will need is to set 100Hz.

Thanks!
That was the definitive answer I was looking for.
