Hi, used the gov for the first time on the nitro today ( Trex 600 - YS 60SR - Align sensor). Still in the break-in cycle on this engine, so gentle flying and low headspeeds.

Observation so far is an intermittent problem when going down in headspeeds, from IU2 to IU1. Switching up doesn't seem to have any problems. Throttle curves are set to only change a few hundred RPM between each. When switching from IU2 back down to IU1, the gov closes the throttle completely and then opens it up again. It almost seems as if the headspeed doesn't drop fast enough for the gov, so it keeps closing the throttle. When it does slow down, it drops too low and then the gov yanks it open again. Gov settings are 3 & 2 at present.

A few times, I landed, idled for a while (more than 10 sec) and then tried to take off again. At which point the gov wouldn't engage. Shut it down, cycle the power, start up and all is fine again.

I will start leaning the engine out during the next flight session and will also then test different gov settings.

All while we're waiting in great anticipation for 1.3 ............... ;)

Hello, I'm getting ready to buy the Spirit FBL system for my nitro TREX600, I see you used the align governor sensor. Does that plug into the side of the unit? That looks like the connector that the first satellite plugs into.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello,

yes, you can power the sensor from this connector.
It is described in our manual with photo.

But be aware, that Align sensors have different color meaning. Black is +3.3V and red is Ground there.

I'm not seeing it, the word governor is not in the online manual. Is there a different manual other than the one on Spirit's webpage.

Hi, I have a TM1000 telemetry module connected and power the Align sensor from there. I spliced the signal wire and only have this going into the middle pin of the ELE/PIT/TAIL port.

I've spent a few sessions and properly tried most every one of the possible 25 permutations. For me, with my skill-set, the governor on nitro is unusable. I could not get it set to behave in any reasonable manner.

Depending on the settings, it would either pulse, overspeed a lot (well past the rpm limit set) and throughout hunt when I switch down from IU2 to 1 or N.

I'll consider to put it back after 1.3 is released and there are verifiable results, specific to nitro.

Any update / progress with 1.3 ?

Assuming it will address the nitro governor issues ?
