Hi
After testing a bit on my T-Rex 600 I decided to put the spirit on my NX4. I used to have a VX1e on this one, and then using the Spartan gov sensor for governor. Strangely, the Spirit will not detect any signals from this one. I have pulled power to the sensor from my Futaba Sbus receiver and the signal is connected to the PIT port on the Spirit. When I test plugging the pit signal into my VX1e, it detects the magnet in the fan correctly.
Does anyone have any tips or solution to this, I've spent the better part of two days to try to resolve this. I love how the NX4 flies on the Spirit, but I can't fly the heli to its full potential without a gov... And I hate the thought of having to do an external gov to get it to work...

Hi,
make sure that after setting governor mode to Nitro you saved the settings and restarted the unit.
Governor readings should show from approx. 300 RPM while throttle is more than 15%. In the upcoming version RPM will be showed from 1, so you can see RPM all the time.

Hi and thanks for the fast reply. I've tried exactly that countless times. I can get it to read on the bench while cranking the engine with the starter, but when I try to start the engine it just does not want to read.

That seems odd to me too. So you crank it over with a starter and the software reads the rpm, but if the engine starts it doesn't read the rpms?
When you crank it over with the starter not intending to start it but just so it reads in the software is everything on (electrically speaking) in your electronics? Is there anything different electronically speaking between just turning it over and actually starting it?
Something's different, has to be.

Everything is on and operationable, the only thing not done is apply the glow plug driver so the engine will actually fire up. And ofc take the fuel line off so it doesn't go into hydro lock.
And yes, I too find it really really weird, as if it wouldn't be compatible with the sensor it shouldn't read the rpm at all? It could be that it just doesn't like the Spartan gov sensor, so I'll order up an Align sensor (which we know works) and see how it works out then. The Spartan sensor worked flawlessly with my Align gov. though - I put that on it just to be able to fly some 3d with it. Shame that the gov on the spirit doesn't work, because all the rest of it, including rescue works flawlessly and is a true joy to set up and tune...

We have not tested governor with Spartan sensor yet, but there shouldn't be a big difference. We are improving governor to make it easier for setup, with better sensor compatibility and also better performance. I believe it will work very well.

I had little trouble setting up my gov on the DT700. Learning curve yes, but no real problems. I am not a smack pilot so I am not demanding that kind of performance but on big air and lighter 3d it's working fine to reasonably well. It's not up to the performance of the Skookum 720be, but in it's first iteration I wouldn't expect it too.
